There's Pirates of the Burning Seas, but I'm not sure if this belongs here since its more or less EVE with sailing ships.

Hi SHar82, thanks for your post. I concur, those are indeed great games particularly with the fantastic community mods. Like you I have also played all of them, however this thread is for game demos and sadly I don't think Akella ever released demos for any of those games sigh

It will be interesting to see what the great modding community over at piratesahoy.net come up with now they have received permission to work on the most recent in the series "City of the Abandoned Ships" .
