Chivas,

CompuExpert who is the distributor sells to many retailers in Canada. As soon as I can confirm who will carry it I will alert my Canadian friends. But yes, it will be available in Canada.

Hi Tom,

Well, we are already offering Free USPS Priority Mail shipping at GoGamer to start. Here's the link.

Not sure what other bundles we can do quite yet, but I'm sure in the future there will be something.

Jason

I thought the price was going to be cheaper than 40 bucks for 2 (maybe 4) Planes. Guess not, now I really wonder how much they are going to charge per plane.

Thanks Destructis.

Master - no one from neoqb has officially said that it would be less that $40. There was a lot of conjecture, but never anything from anyone at neoqb that talked specific pricing. What you get here for your $39.90 out the door at GoGamer is well worth the price. I have been selling PC games for several years now and the JUNK I see other devs and pubs trying to pass off as a $40 or $50 title is sickening. ROF is the bedrock of a whole new line of flight-sim products and if you can't ring $40 worth of fun out of the Campaign or Multiplay then I don't know what to say. No one is forcing anyone to buy it.

That's the last I will say about pricing.

Jason

I read about it from my 48 hour madness mail and am going to order it tomorrow. As far the pricing, if I get 100 hours out of, I will be more than satisfied. The online play alone has the potential to tie up my evenings for quite a while. Co-op and PvP just sounds sweet.

I do have one question Jason. It does say it in the game information, how is the online play going to go? Is there dedicated servers or will there be player made servers? I would love to hear more about the way the online game portion is set up.

Thank you,
Dest

Please bear with me as I play devil's advocate on the topic of pricing.

True enough. No specific price mentioned. But we know what the price in Russia is simply by looking at the site selling it (link to shop posted by NeoQB: http://www.nd.ru/catalog/products/warinheaven1917/ ) Anyone can do the currency conversions from the price in Rubles stated on that site. The Limited Edition set is selling for approximately what the North American standard release is ... minus a few of the goodies.

There is a blog entry on the official NeoQB site proudly proclaiming "One world, One Price".

http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/April-2009/One-world---one-price.aspx

Quote:
Rise of Flight will be distributed worldwide at a uniform price. Variations are possible only because of the publishing activities in different countries and should be minimal.

After reading that, I was happily expecting a price point in the US of roughly half what we're seeing.

Regardless of the math or symantics involved, I'll be buying RoF. The blog entries made were obviously a bit optimistic, and certainly not concrete evidence of the final pricing schemes necessary to see the product hit store shelves around the globe, but do reflect the good intentions NeoQB originally had. I won't fault them for trying.

Okay ... no more pricing talk from me either. In the end I'm just tickled that arrangements have been made to enable this sim to be in my hands much sooner than I was expecting. That is certainly worth the price of admission.

The Russians got to buy RoF relatively cheap (same with BlackShark, IL-2), seems their business model is to use them as mass beta testers. When Western markets open, it's usually after first patch.
