Greetings Flight Simmers, I am honored to announce that 777 Studios will be the North American publisher of Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War. Please see the press release below for the formal announcement. It has been a long 7 almost 8 months since first communicating with neoqb about this opportunity and I am thrilled that the June 8th release date is rapidly approaching. I think those that purchase ROF will be happy they did. neoqb has been a very easy and pragmatic partner to work with and I feel they have a lot to offer the sim community. I also believe future products from them will only build upon this strong foundation to create the pinnacle of WWI flight-sims. I hope you will decide to join in on the fun. Watch this space and the SimHQ forums for more info as I try to answer questions about the release. Press Release Sincerely, Jason Williams President 777 Studios www.777studios.net

Congrats. You going to do a special with GoGamer perhaps? Maybe something involving the game, the TIR5 and such? I am looking to upgrade and maybe a package may sweeten the deal.

This is good news. Do you have a location in Canada where ROF and be ordered or picked up? Chivas, CompuExpert who is the distributor sells to many retailers in Canada. As soon as I can confirm who will carry it I will alert my Canadian friends. But yes, it will be available in Canada. Jason

Hi Tom, Well, we are already offering Free USPS Priority Mail shipping at GoGamer to start. Here's the link. http://www.gogamer.com/viewproduct.htm?productId=70882947Not sure what other bundles we can do quite yet, but I'm sure in the future there will be something. Jason

I thought the price was going to be cheaper than 40 bucks for 2 (maybe 4) Planes. Guess not, now I really wonder how much they are going to charge per plane.

I read about it from my 48 hour madness mail and am going to order it tomorrow. As far the pricing, if I get 100 hours out of, I will be more than satisfied. The online play alone has the potential to tie up my evenings for quite a while. Co-op and PvP just sounds sweet.
I do have one question Jason. It does say it in the game information, how is the online play going to go? Is there dedicated servers or will there be player made servers? I would love to hear more about the way the online game portion is set up.
Thank you, Dest

Please bear with me as I play devil's advocate on the topic of pricing. ... no one from neoqb has officially said that it would be less that $40. There was a lot of conjecture, but never anything from anyone at neoqb that talked specific pricing. True enough. No specific price mentioned. But we know what the price in Russia is simply by looking at the site selling it (link to shop posted by NeoQB: http://www.nd.ru/catalog/products/warinheaven1917/ ) Anyone can do the currency conversions from the price in Rubles stated on that site. The Limited Edition set is selling for approximately what the North American standard release is ... minus a few of the goodies. There is a blog entry on the official NeoQB site proudly proclaiming "One world, One Price". http://riseofflight.com/Blogs/April-2009/One-world---one-price.aspxRise of Flight will be distributed worldwide at a uniform price. Variations are possible only because of the publishing activities in different countries and should be minimal. After reading that, I was happily expecting a price point in the US of roughly half what we're seeing. Regardless of the math or symantics involved, I'll be buying RoF. The blog entries made were obviously a bit optimistic, and certainly not concrete evidence of the final pricing schemes necessary to see the product hit store shelves around the globe, but do reflect the good intentions NeoQB originally had. I won't fault them for trying. Okay ... no more pricing talk from me either. In the end I'm just tickled that arrangements have been made to enable this sim to be in my hands much sooner than I was expecting. That is certainly worth the price of admission.

pre-ordered yesterday - thanks to Jason and 777 studios -
GoGamer has always handled my orders adroitly so no worries there
I have been looking forward to this sim just as I did the original Il2
Heres hoping it holds up as well as that one has over time.

What is the release date? I thought it was June 8, but my pre-order still says processing. I have not seen a post that says the date has changed. Anybody?
