how you can slave the Shkval to the HMS. Press and hold the the SHKVAL button. It will will release the SHKVAL when you release the button. The cannon will track up/down with your HMS, and some minimal side/side action. I used this method the other night to engage another helo with guns to great effect. It was similar to egaging using HMS in the Apache except your helo needs to point toward the target. Unlike the Apache which can engage on both port and starboard sides.

My TIR5 is one the way, waiting for delivery.
How do people operate the clickable cockpit with TIR active? Maybe this is obvious when I get the unit, just wondering. Is there a button I can map to mouse button click?

Congrats Mogster! The mouse cursor stays at the same position on the screen, no matter where you look, unless you move it with the mouse of course. So you use both, TIR to look around, mouse to move the cursor. It's completly intuitive, don't worry. And it is awesome! Give yourself a couple of days to get used to it though.

TIR5 arrived this morning.
I'm surprised how easy it is to use straight out of the box, but flying and feeling comfortable with it are something else. I think tweaking the settings to my liking is going to take a while.

The mouse cursor stays at the same position on the screen, no matter where you look, unless you move it with the mouse of course. The mouse cursor does actually move with my TIR and can be used in conjustion with HMS. I position my mouse cursor directly below the HMS sight at the bottom of the screen, so the mouse cursor follows my view but its down low. My wheel button(x52pro) is mapped to "mouse1" and scroll. This way I can look at buttons/knobs turning or pushing by glancing down a little. Its also a good idea to map a button to the TIR recentre, for me its the joystick twist rotation, as I use pedals. Frequent recentering of TIR is required to correct your HUD position. I still use the mouse for starting up the heli, but once im inflight I mostly use the TIR for everything thats not mapped to my X52pro
