I'm guessing that too, specially because the FATs were destroyed in an attempt to conceal the origin of the attack.

The Admins said they had revoked root access from the alleged suspect before the hack but there's no telling what he might have done before that, such as inserting a Trojan in the system that would allow full access after he got banned.

Wow that is a real shame. There are a lot of old old files for the Fly!II simulator that were hosted there. They'll never be recoverable.

There must be some super angry pimply faced kid behind that attack, either that or some dangerously low functioning 40 year old basement dweller.

I've had no reason to use their services, but as I got a little more into FSX I had thought of it. This is crushing. I really feel sorry for all of those that are heavily into FSX and power-users of the service.

I used their service for many years when I was into FS2004. A shame this has happened.
