After the dismissal weather that blighted so many airshows in the UK last year, it was great to start the 2009 season with a bit of the old sunshine and blue stuff!

Here's a few of the shots that I took at the Spring Airshow at Old Warden on Sunday 3rd May. The P40M was sporting a new paint-job as a result of part in one of Steven Speilberg's films (Valkyrie?) - it even had sprayed on exhaust and gun smoke trails.

Incredible pics! What camera and lens are you using?

Thanks - glad you like 'em.

They're taken with a Canon 400D (i.e. an old-ish entry level dSLR) and a 70-200mm Canon F4.0 L lens. The lens cost a lot more than the camera body (I think that's where you need to place the emphasis). In truth the 70-200mm is a bit 'short' for airshows but when the planes get close enough it produces clear results.
