Two Simple questions...
First, I downloaded AAA Mod 1.0 which I interpret to be an expansion of update 4.8 for Il 1946 that comprises sound and plane mods. While this Mod 1.0 is targeted for 1946, will it operate without problem with Forgotten Battles? Both are the "same" in terms of mother code, I believe.
Second a very knowledgeable source pointed me to AAA Mod 1.1, which happens to be a very large download (1.9Gb WinRAR file) which took about five minutes just to extract. The contents of this MOD, while almost as large as the base game, appears to be a series of additional Mods. The documentation is sparse. Does anyone know this AAA MOD 1.1 and will it fit into either 1946 or Forgotten Battles without mishap??
Advice for advancement in intelligent gaming, instead of a download bumble, would be appreciated. For those who do not know MOD 1.1, here is the only intelligeable text file that could be found in its folder:
HOW TO REMOVE OR TO RE-ENABLE A MOD...
===================================
First navigate to your MODS folder locasted within your IL2 game folder
To remove a mod simply put a minus sign in front of the MOD so for example you would change
ExampleMod
to
-ExampleMod
Be warned some MODS are depedant on others so when disabling MODS this way try not to change many at once. Just try one at a time & then test out your game & see if its had the desired effect.
BATCHFILES...
==========
What are these files?
They allow the user to choose different setup options for IL2
How do I use them?
Double Left-Click on the relavent Batch file. Once the files have been copied, launch IL-2 1946 separately.
Do I have to open my IL-2 Folder to run the game?
No. Simply create shortcuts to the _Switch*.bat for the versions of IL-2 that you use and IL2fb.exe and place them on you desktop (or wherever they're convenient).
The following is an explanation of the Batch files included...
Version Switching Batch files
------------------------------
The six Switch files are an alternative to using the Il2VersionSwitcher.exe program. The _Switch files are needed if you do not have Microsofts .NET Frameworks and 2.0 (or above) installed.
_Switch-408_No_Mods.bat
_Switch-408_Mods_On.bat
_Switch-408_Mods_On_With6DOF.bat
_Switch-409_No_Mods.bat
_Switch-409_Mods_On.bat
_Switch-409_Mods_On_With_6DOF.bat
MKII Gyro Gunsight or Standard Gunsight for Spitfire MK IX switcher
-------------------------------------------------------------------
These Batch files allow you to choose between two different types of gunsight for the following Spitfire MK IX variants... Spitfire L.F. MK.IXc (CW) 1944, Spitfire MK.IXe 1944, Spitfire L.F. MK.IXe (CW) 1944, Spitfire H.F. MK.IXe 1944 & Spitfire MK.IX 25Lbs 1944 (but Not Spitfire MK.IXc, 1943) the two types of gunsight are Standard type (original IL2 Gunsight) or MKII Gyro Gunsight. The two Batch files for this are as follows...
_MKII_GYRO_On.bat (MKII Gyro Gunsight enabled)
_MKII_GYRO_Off.bat (Standard Gunsight enabled)
EAX (environmental audio) switcher
----------------------------------
The following two Batch files allow the user to choose the best sound sound setup for IL2. It will not effect the running of game, if you choose either of the following batch files it just simply allows the user to get the most from their sounds. If you prefer using EAX, which means you turn on the audio extensions switch within the sound setup in IL2, for this your best option is to choose the _EAX_ON. If you prefer not to use EAX or do not have EAX then your best choice is to opt for the _EAX_OFF option instead. By default this pack is set to EAX OFF.
_EAX_OFF.bat (EAX OFF or EAX Non-Compatible)
_EAX_ON.bat (EAX ON or EAX Compatible)
===============================================================================
Thats all folks !
We hope your enjoy this pack
