2 weeks until russian release, and I humbly quote: "Game will leave completely in the Russian language."

Might be a month or so from now, until we, from what I understand, have English digital release.

Never the less, we are undeniably close now!

Would be great if a developer could shred some light on the English version of RoF.
The last statement on the blog was rather blurry but to be honest it looks like we'll have to wait longer. Seeing as we outside Russia and CIS can't get a boxed version it feels rather weird that we still have to wait a lot longer just for the digital download version of ROF to hit.

How about that demo? smile

Many years of development butchered up by a urinating-poor release. Please learn on mistakes of other russian developers...release game world wide at the same time.

Developments take time, but I suppose they could have delayed the russian version until the english version was ready and urinate-off a few russians. Is it better to have a few urinated-off russians, than a few urinated-off others? Luckily the russians are smarter than that and will take the money now rather than later, as there will always be urinated-off people in all countries no matter what they did.

I personally have no problems with a staggered release when a lot of the reason for it is probably just a reflection of the work needed to get the different language versions completed (I know that's not a very well written sentence).

I don't see the angst this causes as a "urinated-up" release, but rather sour grapes by those who can't stomach the thought that others may be able to play with their toy before them. School yard stuff really.

What this gold announcement means is that the game is very close to full release and will not drop off into vapourware. Considering the global financial situation, it's probably a very wise move to release it in Russia first as that should give them a cash boost to help finish the job (the same thing was done with the release of ArmA, i.e., to keep the developer afloat so they could finish the game). Also, once sold, there will be no reason why the russian gamers can't flood us with nice movies while we wait.

Staggered release doesn't bother me either. If there are any bugs they might get fixed before 'our' version comes out. I imagine, though, that the extra time needed before letting the rest of us near it is to correct the appalling Russian-English translations that they seem to have borrowed from 1C:Maddox. 'Era of First Sky Aces' indeed. nope

cheers
