Hi,

I can only give you the advice to look at http://www.eechcentral.com. Read carefully what is written there especially in the section: Installation.
In short: EECH has to be patched in different stages. When used without the mods the newest original patched .exe is 1.46X which adds USB support. Without this you have the "look right up" bug. ATI users need 1.47 patch. Please read the infos on EECH central and also have a look at the razorworks homepage for "original" patches. When you download the EECHAll.exe then you must activate the option 1.41C patch if you have a unpatched EECH.
Go to http://www.eechcentral.com and do exactly as written in the installation advice. Good Luck

I got it working! I had followed all the steps in the EECH Central install with patching and running in between mod installs with no luck. This time after install, patch, then the all in one mod install I got the same results then I ran the 1.8.6 patch again and all worked beautifully.

Did this again to check, installed all in one no go, downloaded and reinstalled 1.8.6 patch, all is well. I think the patch in the all in one may be corrupted or you have to run this patch after the install if you're having trouble.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Hey,

Very nice that you got it working. Not important how you get it to work, but that it works. Sometimes the strangest solution or action does the trick as with your re-install of 1.8.6. \:\)

Try what I did, by the way when you do a clean install you have to go to the drive and delete the razorworks folder as well. Follow the guide exactly then download and install 1.8.6, also check post #2266022 fron craigmier about what causes this problem. We'll get it working

I think Directplay is one of the protocols in DX8. From what I understand, which isn't much, it is looking for a server like your game is being connected to a network, 4a might indicate a server designation.

Is the latest version of DirectX loaded on your system?

I went by the install guide at EECH Central, I used the All in one mod and I have EEAH. I uninstalled EECH and EEAH and then went into the drive where the sims were located and deleted the razorworks folder, the game uninstalls will not do this.Following the guide install EEAH if you have it, run it and patch it, then install EECH and the 1.4.1C(something like that), run the sim to check if it shows EEAH installed. Then I ran the All IN One mod, when I tried to run the Sim I got the "Diamond" error. I did a download of the 1.8.6 patch (eechsetup1.8.6.exe)and installed it and everything worked fine.
