Well gang, I had a blast at the 2009 Tuscaloosa Airshow yesterday. This event had a stellar lineup including the Blue Angels, Super Hornet East, A-10 East, Aeroshell, Red Eagles, Golden Knights and more. Believe it or not, I missed most of the demos and shot about 1/3rd the number of photos that I normally would. Why? Not the weather, it was beautiful. Camera problems? nope.
My unusually low photo activity was due to the fact that I was invited to an airport hangar far away from the flightline. At the hangar I was presented with a most unexpected opportunity...the honor of flying on Fat Albert during the performance. I thought about it for just a minute. What about all the shots that I would miss? What if there was a mishap, what would my family do? Then I thought, why am I wasting time asking these questions??...."GET ON BERT" and lets go!
What a ride! can you say "Zero G" anyone!
I will post more shots and additional details later but here are a few of my photos. Sorry for the lack of prop blur for those who find such things undesirable. This was the first time I had seen any of these aircraft and I wanted a few "Keepers" before I tried for proper blurring:
Enjoy!
