OK, so when I reach about 200 knots in any aircraft, a very electronic-sounding whine adds itself to the engine noise, ascending in pitch as my speed increases. It, umm, doesn't sound right, and the sound is not present in my stock WOV install. The sound configuration is identical in my stock WOV and YAP2 intalls (16 channels, normal stero). Any advice? Thanks!

I've heard that too. It sounds like some kind of warning device to me. For some reason it went away. I don't know what it was or what made it stop, but I sure don't miss it. The "YAPsters" probably know what that sound is.

I could be wrong, but I think it's the feedback whine from the engines over your headset. Even GM cars back in the early 70's had that when "stereo" was new (ish) in cars. I find it realistic and immersive.

I put that in there. I never heard an engine while inside the Phantom. You could hear Lead's engines and the AB was a presence but mostly all you heard was whine (and cursing and radio chatter).

You could always delete "...\Sounds\JetWhine.wav"? I've replaced it w/ radio chatter...

Thanks for the info, Whitehead and Zerocinco... I'll try to appreciate the whine as added realism! tuner

Now where's the cursing...?

Still laugh at the thread title.

Picture the engine in a high pitched voice..
