Pretty slick app - just unzip into a folder and make a shortcut for it. Fire up and one can launch Black Shark from the app or from outside it.

It recognizes where Black Shark is installed, how many cores, and one can even load a custom skin or default mission for the "quick mission" function.

Undocumented problem I had initially: For some reason on my box, even though I've tagged myself as an administrator, it wouldn't adjust affinity unless I ran it with the "as administrator" in the properties box of the shortcut.

One can tell if it's not doing the right thing if the "Affinity Fix Applied To DCS.exe" box blinks off an on the desktop between the end of the GUI part and the mission launch.

After that, though, clear sailing.

Man, there are some really smart people in this world.

Prifinitty is another software solution for this and works almost like a task manager to help you see all the threads that are running and will shut them down for you as well. See here for details:

I couldn't get Prifinitty to work for me, though.

Has anyone tried this utility in Vista 64bit? - it comes up with a message saying it cannot start the Launcher.exe. BS works fine running it the normal way.

I am using prifinitty on my Vista 64.

I understand some had issues (there is a different 64 bit version of prifinitty) but i like the ability to shut down other processes and allocate my TrackIR to other cores. Guess its a matter of taste...

I used it once in Vista 64 without issue. I usually forget to use it, though. The difference seems to be pretty minimal.

hmmm, wonder whats up with it on mine then. I have sued prifinitty, but for some reason, had to keep alt-tab'ing back to windows to set it to all 4 cores again after loading a mission.
