Official YAP1 support might not exist any more, but YAP1 itself probably exists on quite a few pc harddrives. It appears that the people still running YAP1 will probably have to get help from the WOV community with any problems that they might be having with YAP1.

You have one or a couple of things going on. You patched to Sept or Oct 08, which is what I suspect, or independently changed the AircraftObjectini and/or the AI. Whatever it is, something has been changed. The YAP1 helos FM were if anything more docile.
Try putting your in game collisions on normal.

Yep, Eight's got it right - I would also suspect you patched to the 08, remember that YAP1 should ONLY go up to the Wings Over Vietnam v08.30.06 Patch: http://www.thirdwire.com/downloads_archive.htm

In the case of YAP1 - uninstall it then reinstall WOV but only patch it to 8/30/06 - (make copies of your existing WOV installs so you dont lose them) - then stick YAP 1 back into it.

The patch includes too many changes to back out manually - and even if you tried i doubt youd have a usable sim at the end
