Round 2 of the Honour tournament (best of three rounds) has started after Marine won round 1.

The first mission of Round 1 - a new BOB2 mission titled 'Alone in the Blue' has been posted. New players Lt Sarge and Vitesse have just joined the tournament (all welcome!) and racked up kills in the first mission, so they are on their way to glory - or death...

The next mission in Round 2 will be posted this weekend and it will be a tricky one. HINT: practice flying with wingmen

Marine is leading the pack in Round 2 after a blazing effort in the Deere Over Dunkirk mission. This was a particularly tough one because in addition to adding to your own kill tally (and not getting killed in the process), there were bonus points for rescuing the Hurricanes of 151 Squadron who were already engaged and outnumbered by Emils at the start of the mission...

Dont know how to take both the screens(Report and Diary)at the same time.

That was such a dogfight, hard to see them coming at you out of that dark blue sky,but very exciting stuff.

Day trip to France. Didn't stop to pick up any duty free.

Sunset at Hawkinge; is there anywhere nicer at the end of a busy day?

And Dumbo is biding his time for mission 3 which will be posted Wednesday, and after saving all the Hurricanes from 151 Squadron he'll be good for a few ales...

First attempt...flamed!

Second attempt...1 kill. No Hurricanes shot down. However, I don't know how to take a screen shot of BOTH my debriefing screen + the Diary summary...so you'll have to take my word for it!

Landed "winchester" at Hawkinge:

Baza takes the lead after heading off on a rhubarb over Dunkirk...

Tally Ho!

Shot down one with a very short burst and damaged another after a long chase, who then made for home.

I followed him, caught him and finished him off.

I was most of the way to France by this time and in the distance saw the remainder of the 109s heading for home; so I thought 'What the hell' and followed them at a discrete distance.

Over France I joined them in their landing circuit and they didn't seem to notice me trailing behind them.
So far, so good.

I waited until all but one had landed and when he dropped his wheels on his final approach, let him have it.
Never give a sucker an even break.

He dropped away and I thought he had gone down, so I straffed the airfield and destroyed another two on the ground (I thought it was more until I saw the combat report).

I'd done three runs when I saw the last 109 still flying but trailing smoke, caught him and finished him off.

Then it was home to Hawkinge.

I checked the Diary (haven't installed Rapidshot yet) and everyone else had been detroyed i.e. 3 Hurricanes and 11 Spitfires.

Mission 3 posted: Prop Bender

On 9 July 1940 Deere had a head on collision with Johan Illner's Me109 near Manston. Both pilots survived - Deere ended up in a field with his prop bent and most of his tailplane missing. Illner made it home in one piece, only to end up as a POW in November 1940 after baling out over Essex.

This mission gives you the chance to change history as Deere and 54 Squadron go up against JG51 again in the skies over Manston.

Bonus points if you manage to shoot down Illner this time!
