This is not a mod. It's a small utility for adjusting settings of your monitor. Do not affect FPS, and you can use it with the other games too. I have made a preset for IL2 which fits to my machine and my monitor (on F5 button), you can tweak it or make other, whit settings that you prefer.

The irony is that I have this from 2003, and only now I figured the best settings for IL2 biggrin

All credits to maker of this small utility Tomasz Porosinski, his readme file is included.

1. Extract it anywhere on your computer.
2. Click on icon (that small butterfly)
3. Start IL2 and hit F5 button to enable it.
4. When you don't want the effect anymore (finished playing IL2 for example) hit F6 button or reset at utility panel.

This is how it looks on my monitor. Visuals can differ from machine to machine.

Since it's working the monitor settings, I'm going to presume it's really fine tuning the color warmth, saturation, brightness and contrast.

Is that right?

You are right, but unfortunately it doesn't tune saturation. With that it would be even the better. If you know for something that can adjust saturation, I would love to try it. IL2 generally has the problem with oversaturation IMO. This same thing you can do through graphic driver, but it is easier like this.
