I installed this last night and I seem to have lost animations (like open canopy, etc.).

I tested it on the gunnery training mission by doing a clean WOV/YAP2 install without the mission pack and I got the animations there. However, changing nothing other than installing the mission pack appears to have (and I have no idea how this would happen) disabled animations like open canopy, etc.

That was the ticket. Thanks for the rapid fix. I was beginning to think I'd lost the ability to determine issues and their sources. Never would have looked in the aircraft obj file. Almost feel foolish making an issue of such a small detail when there is soooo much to enjoy in YAP2.
