When you go ingame and make changes to your control panel, the following entries get wiped out and have to be re-entered in your controlsdataini.

For the Reece mod:
At the end of [ControlSet001]

GOTO_CAMERA_LEFT_VIEW=NUMPAD1
GOTO_CAMERA_RIGHT_VIEW=NUMPAD3
GOTO_CAMERA_DOWN_VIEW=NUMPAD2
GOTO_CAMERA_FRONT_VIEW=NUMPAD5

For the re-fuel mod:
At the beginning of [RangedControl009]

AxisControl=PITCH_TRIM_CONTROL

What is the Recce mod and where do I get it? I have read refering it many times -including the DIRECTIONS recommending to install it- but I didn't not see it in the YAP2 CD.

Thanks

It is in your CONTROLS folder but here it is. It is important to several missions. It takes them from being "Oh. That's nice." to "Wow! What a kick in the pants!" by giving a purpose to the flight.

Here's a shot from 680823 Night Train:

And here's one taken with the Photoflash flares (be sure to open the flare doors first):

And here's you running like hell to get the pictures back to Udorn.

. . . . . . . . . .

This is a simple modification originally inspired by one done by Rhugouvi and posted at Combatace on 11/22/05. A few simple flaws made it sometimes unsuitable. Most of those are worked out here.

1- The enclosed VIEWLIST.INI file in your FLIGHT folder adds most the features needed for this modification.

This Viewlist is adjusted to look out the photo windows of an RF-4C and RF-4B. It also works for the RF-8G but does not line up with the windows. Since it is a global command, you can only have one set of views.

The actual lines are at the bottom of this file.

2- This second part requires you to go to your CONTROLS folder and open either your DEFAULT file or your JOYSTICK file (or whatever you have named the custom settings file).

If you are using YAPcontrols or our Logitech or Saitek controls, you need not do any more. If not:

The first section is [ControlSet001]

At the end of this section before [RangedControl001]

insert these lines:

GOTO_CAMERA_LEFT_VIEW=NUMPAD1
GOTO_CAMERA_RIGHT_VIEW=NUMPAD3
GOTO_CAMERA_DOWN_VIEW=NUMPAD2
GOTO_CAMERA_FRONT_VIEW=NUMPAD5

Now, in any airplane when you touch 1, 3, 2, or 5 on your number pad, the view will be what a recce bird sees. All you need to do now is push the PrntScrn button to take a recon photo.

Neat, huh?

Re-visiting this little issue regarding making changes to your in game options/controls.
Also, the canopy, wingfold and refuel probe commands are shown on your hangar screen.

I am trying to get recce mod to work. I am using the Logitech control and I have tested with the 640805 Pierce Arrow BDA mission. When I press PrtScn I hear the camera fire but when I press either 1,3,2 or 5 I do not get any views. I have checked the various folders and INI files and they seem all correct as above. Do I need to assign numpad keys 1,3,2,5 in the Logitech control options? Not sure what the problem is?

Mike,

We will assume that the RF-8G is funtioning correctly.

Remember that even just opening the options/contols in game will erase that entry and the re-fuel entry also. Once you get that set, leave it. Or you will have to go back every time and re-enter that mod info in the CONTROLSINI.

Just in case, your contols folder should look something like this. In your case "default" will be "logitech". The only one loose. Make sure those other INIS are in a folder(s) named something different than CONTROLS. Also, for the heck of it, check your NUMLOCK on your number pad.
