The BDG currently has a small team working on the long broken MP code. We are trying to establish just how many of our 'customers' would be interested in a multiplayer option for BoBII and whether it is worth our efforts to pursue this task or if we would be better off using our time elsewhere.

Please look at this thread on the A2A/BoBII forum and vote in the poll so that we know where we stand.

Thanks.

As Larry suggest, feedback on this is important. Over the years this has been one of the top request.

No skin off my nose if the BDG does it, but from my own personal point of view, I'd rather rub a cheese grater on my bottom for an hour than play MP anything with any people I have ever met online. The rest of you can fill your boots, and I hope that you enjoy yourselves if MP sees the light of day.

BOBII is a Flight Sim which best features are Dog fighting with the AI (really the best in the world) and the dynamic Campaign (also the best).

What we hope to acheive is a MP experience for our BOBII players (we do understand that MP is not everyone's cup of tea) who want to experience fighting against the BOBII AI in a coop missions using BOBII's instant action missions (including the Historic missions with 100's of A/C fighting over England), Death Match, and Team Play dog fighting. The experience of flying and communating with friends and other players is a good thing IMHO and part of a postive experience as well.

Of course meeting the above goal will only be possible if we can find and fix some bad BOBII MP bugs and learn about MP networking. We (the BDG) could really use some MP coding and MP networking skill if anyone cares to volunteer to help us.

The BOBII MP will feature the following 3 games (if we can fix all the bugs some of which are show stoppers):

1. The Death Match in BOBII is a Human pilot only where everyone shoots everyone and the individual winner has the most kills. When you are killed you are Resurrected and then continue to fight.

2. Team play is also for human pilots where you have a RAF side and a LUF side. When you are killed you are Resurrected and continue to fight. The side with the most kills is the winner.

3. In Quickmissions you can fly the BOBII quick missions with the AI on either the RAF or LUF side. This way you can fly the 12-on-12 Dog fight missions (and others as well) and all the Historic Missions where you can experience Flying with 200+ A/C as the Historic Mission are today. You basicly fly with you AI and human pilots on either the RAF or LUF side to meet mission objectives.

Yes, and with that cheer no wonder he has such a rough go online.

I would stick with the improvements on single player campaign and AI. SoW: BOB is in development which will be mostly multiplayer and I assume the campaign end of SoW: BoB will be somewhat lacking.
