That was fast, ordered las friday, was in the mailbox today thursday. Pretty good since I live in Norway. Less than 5 days included weekend. Good service!

Itīs late in the night now and I donīt have time to test much (never flew WOV before, I have to start finding a doc with the keymapping) so tomorrow i will start the deep study.

Had time for a short take off an landing with a F100 though, and it looks pretty nice with max graphics setting -nice clouds!- very fluid also. Of course, since Falcon is my main simulator, whatever looks nice for me biggrin

I have to say that I love the concept of YAP. I have read books like "scream of eagles", "Misty Pilots"... and when -by accident- saw a link called "Yankee Air Pirate 2" I had to investigate it, and when I saw what it was and the background of the author, I just had to have it! I need to hear (an experience!), all the stories they have gathered)

Honestly, never though about WOV like a sim for me, I like study sims with huges manuals, deep simulation of systems,... but Iīm SO looking forward to experience YAP, I want to be a Misty looking for trucks over the Ho Chi Min Trail, walk on the thick AAA, look for holes in the #%&*$# weather and do some monkey-bombing and get dissapointed when I donīt see any secondaries!!

Some AAR soon (and tons of questions Iīm afraid)

Cheers

Tulkas

If I remember correct, I got to a review in SimHQ of some product (not remember which one, nothing to do with YAP) from some other forum. Between the paragraph I saw a banner of "Yankee Air Pirate 2", normally I don't pay atention to comercial banners, but from readings books about Vietnam Air War I was familiar with the words yankee air pirate and got really courious. Without those books, I would have never clcik the banner, I never do.

I think it took me to the web. Honestly, after surfing around the web, I still didn't have very clear what YAP2 was or how it worked, Was a complet sim? an addon? What do I get when I purchase it? But it looked very interesting so I Google "YAP2" and then finally got to SimHQ reviews of "YAP" and "YAP2", your interview, the forum... then I got the point and ordered.

If I may give a piece of advice, the "YAP2" web needs some more especific information for newbies gathered under one topic. Maybe it is enough to link to SimHQ review and forum -since this one appears to be the semi-official YAP forum- directly from the topic "What is YAP?".

Not take it wrong, the web looks great and got me totally hooked from the beggining, it is just that for me, as a total outsider from WOV and Third Wire products community, was difficult to get the point right away.

As I stated in my previous post, I love the concept I wish it to have a wide success. On my part, I will try to make it known in my circle.

Regards

Tulkas
