Anyone heading out to TICO this weekend for the show? I look forward to this show every year. I'm hoping to go for the Saturday show. I'm looking forward to sitting in the grass and sun and watching airplanes all day. yeah Last year was the first year that I had my new camera with me. I'm very green when it comes to photography tech and procedures so I may pop back in with a few questions on camera settings. From the couple of rolls that I developed from last year's show, I can tell I need to change my settings. (Some of the pictures were very sharp but unfortunately many seemed to be washed out at the same time. Sort of like the effect you get when you've been swimming too long and everything looks bleached out)

First of all please forgive the fact that these pictures aren't of the best quality. I'm not familiar with photography or my camera yet but I'm learning. I hope you enjoy them anyhow. I went on Saturday and it was a great show as usual. It was sunny at times but mostly cloudy all day. Even got a little down pour of fat rain before the show. Luckily I found a Tshirt stand with an umbrella above it. cool These pics aren't in any particular order.

The Valiant Air Command has now acquired a Mig-21.

Last year was my first time seeing and F-4U Corsair fly. He was back again this year. I also learned that this bird was used in the Black Sheep Squadron t.v. series.

Beautiful "Quick Silver" Mustang.

F-86 Sabre flown by one of the Navy's most highly decorated pilots. This gentlemen has the most flight hours than anyone has or will have in the Tomcat.

B-25. The Killer Bee is usually here every year. After the show was over, another B-25 took off but he wasn't in the show I saw. Don't know where he came from but it was another nice treat while heading back.

L-29??I think. Flown by a gentleman I believe now in his eighties or close to it. I don't think he became a pilot or jet pilot until around the age of 70.

Always fun to see the Viper. I don't know if its weather related, but there was a lot of nice vapor coming of the planes Saturday and not even just the F-16 but slower stuff too. But the F-16 was making vapor left and right.

Finally got a shot this year of the Starfighter with its drag chute deployed.

This was a really neat shot. They were towing Quick Silver out while moving people out of the flight line and I was able to get a picture of them.

They finally got the ol' gal up and running this year. "Tico Belle". The theme of the show this year was "Return to Flight". They turned the engines on the day I went and taxied but she did not fly. I don't know if they were intending her to fly or not that day. They've really worked hard on her. I have a good memory of volunteering three days with the VAC for school back in I think 2003/2004. Its not much but I got to assist a gentlemen names James Bond install a few windows into the Tico Belle from a DC-3 that they got for parts. They are a great group of folks. And their C-47 has seen somes stuff in her time.(It was at D-day, participated in the Berlin Airlift, and other semi-recent aide support projects)

The F-104 came close by the crowd this year,(he didn't last year when I went) and would throttle up his engines pretty ubruptly. Its already a cool sounding plane when it flys but up close where you can really hear the engine, man is it awsome. It really does howl.

Heritage Flight

This was kind of funny timing. Just as the Starfighter was taxing after his performance, the B-25 just dropped a simulated bomb near by. Watch out!

I just love the look of the T-28.

Hey. Where'd the trees go?

My Grandfather was a radio man and gunner for a time on these guys. According to the sign, they are a few years away yet from having her operational. Can't wait to see and Avenger fly. I sat in it a few years ago but she looked nothing like this at the time.
They're doing a beautiful job.

Thanks for lookin!

Global Warming, naw, just too many air-show pyrotechnics. biggrin

I had to look twice at the photo sequence of the Corsair coming out of a dive followed by the two Mustangs taking off. I thought it was all one shot at first. wink

The blue P-51 against that sky is a classic. The only thing missing is a little pro blur.
