We always wanted to do several missions not in YAP1. Aside from being experiences you cannot get in other sims, they tell stories that are seldom told.

As you may have guessed, we don't tell political stories. Lyndon Johnson and Ho Chi Minh are not part of YAP. We tell the momentary adventures of men under pressure. Our tales occur in the air over Southeast Asia. People recognize the names Rolling Thunder, Khe Sanh and Tet. They know Linebacker. But some enormous battles and great tales occurred in places long forgotten. Forgetting the mess is okay. Forgetting the stories is not.

FSB O'Reilly was an ARVN position and a huge battle on a mountain top that nobody knows about because the press had become bored by then. We needed a Chinook to build it. And we needed our FM refined. (Roll up your sleeves. You have a lot of lifts to do.)

Another one is Dak Seang...a Special Forces camp in the way. It too, is an unknown huge battle in which (among other things), C-7 Caribous were ordered to supply the base at all costs...and the costs were very high but they kept at it. How it was eventually resupplied will be played at in YAPv2 and it's an amazing reproduction. The Boo is in the paint shop or I'd show it.

We are contacted from time to time by a witness to some flight and we think: "oooo! That would be a good one!" So if anything that meets our specs as a worthy untold tale comes up from a participant...pilot, crew, grunt, mech, reporter, family member, drinking buddy, airport bum...we will be tempted to create it. These two were always on the hot list.
