Stevee620,
These were my results last night, which were emailed to Zerocinco :

1. Set my graphics to Low, Medium and then High . Loaded all 3 times .
2. Set to High and Horizon Distance down to Normal. Loaded .
3. Set to High , Horizon Normal and Mirrors Off. Bombed!!
4. Set to High , Horizon Normal , Mirrors back to On , Cockpit Reflections Off. Loaded.
5. Set to High , Horizon Normal , Mirrors On , Reflections Off , Shadows Off. Loaded .
6. Set same as # 5 , but turned Mirrors Off . Bombed .

The problem with leaving the mirrors on is that my FPS dropped drastically from 40-50 to 6-7 . This is while sitting on the carrier deck .

My problem is only when I turn mirrors Off .

Thanx for that john, will have a tinker around. Strange that having the mirrors OFF causes the problem..... As for me, i'm getting about 6-7fps(on the deck) with my settings on low, and using the LOW end environment, i don't know exactly wot they are, cos not sure how to get frame rates up, but can tell from experience of playin sims. I thought that landing back on the carrier would be difficult wiv such slow fps, but it wasn't too bad actually, I got down in one piece. At least we can now get the mission to load, just a matter of how much detail we want now. The biggest draw back of using the LOW end specs is that the sky's rubbish. But, i think its a case on my part of put up or shut up, until i can upgrade my machine...lol.
Ste...

This does not happen in Brass Balls? Weird. The deck is as full, sky as cloudy, waves as wavy, jungle as jungly (okay. I'll stop.)

My "game PC" is only an Intel core2 2.13 cpu, 2GB RAM, NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS WIN XP SP2.

I can run Fallout 3 and Empire Total War with lowered graphic settings.

When I got YAP2, I was surprised to get a blue screen and reboot on Quang Khe Ferry. I replaced the settings with the lowest YAP2 folder settings and it loaded and ran but it...was...a...slide...show.

Over at CombatAce, Panama Red suggested swaping out the YAP2 clouds for the "Widesky" clouds--I did this and Viola--Quang Khe Ferry is up and running with a good frame rate.

Next I tried loading Brass Balls and got a blue screen reboot, couldn't load it.

I saw John_688s post here about running better with the mirrors on--I tried that and Brass Balls runs fine!!

So far I have loaded the first 9 missions and have no problems at all.

I saw 05s post about the YAP2 clouds being the real deal for the missions, but I just can't run them on this PC.

Thanks to all of you for your helpful posts and to TK and the YAP Team for their great work.

I have YAP1 and YAP2 is a great advance and is a much more polished product--love that installer!!
