Just out of curiosity, I wondered how many of you here find my LB2 site useful and who are returning visitors?

I have it bookmarked so that I can jump to it whenever I need it.

I was looking thru it yesterday, first in an attempt to fix the rudders/yaw problem (which I did fix), and then to try and tackle the rockets problem (which I didn't).

Shame the sourcecode for LB2 has never been released. A few choice exe edits could banish such problems for good, no doubt.

I needed it to fix my install. I've downloaded some of your missions, and go back often.

Dude, I consider you the heart of the online LB2 movement, now. There's Speichts.com, who's like the lungs, and a couple others, but yeah, you're up there. Don't go anywhere.

I've basically narrowed down my list of games to FreeFalcon5 and Longbow, maybe F22:TAW, and MPTP2, and I'm still choosing my infantry sim, or whether I'll continue with one at all. When I get time I'll post a BUNCH of sims for sale. Some, like F-14:FD, I'll hold on for sentimental reasons, or only sell for highest bidder.

Yeah, Flyboy. A couple years ago you started screaming for attention for yourself about this sim, and a lot of us called you an upstart. But now you're pretty much the leader, Speichts.com a close second. If you go away, we'll think of new names to call you. Maybe we'll nickname ugly neighborhood kids after you too. Yeah, that's a threat. You've been warned.

It's Speichts.com , wasn't Speicher a downed F15 pilot in Gulf War I?

Oops. I'll edit those posts tomorrow.

And, technically, it was an F-18. What REALLY sucked about it was you had this big gaggle of A-6s, F-18s and so forths all lining up on a target, first night of ODS, and all of a sudden AWACS calls a Foxbat in their britches, one F-18 (no ID on which pilot) actually locks him up, but the AWACS crew can't declare him hostile, and order the F-18 to disengage. Obediently (and probably against his better judgment), he does that. Then the Foxbat turns around, locks up Speicher and shoots him down. So, anyone who wants to use this incident to dis on Speicher is stupid. It was the AWACS that got him shot down. Any amount of study of modern A-A war will show the AWACS, an airborne intelligence platform, is often the weak link in the kill chain.

Oops, wrong forum. Sorry.

Well, I wasn't much a visitor back then, but then, found your site rather unavoidable :),
if must go, then please consider transferring knowledge to wiki or alike, not just links, the whole thing.

Wow! Thanks for all your kind words. It's what makes it all worthwhile when I see comments like this. My site will NEVER go away, even if I ever (for whatever reason) had to stop using Helosim as a host, I would setup my very own domain and host it there. I've worked too many hours on it to just let it slip away.

It's funny when I think it just started out as a single webpage, to host my missions and stuff. I could see from when I joined here that there was a 'gap in the market' and that needed to be filled. It's a pleasure to be able to cater for the many LB2 fans that still exist.

I've tried to advertise my site where ever possible, and looking at my site statistics I think it's worked. Most people who haven't already found my site, find it by searching through Google and Wikipedia. I'm getting steady numbers of monthly visitors.

None of this would have been possible without you people. So THANKYOU!

Emmm.... There is absolutely no way in hell I would be enjoying this game tonight if it wasn't for your site.

I've just been digging through old forum threads to try to dig up some info, a lot of these old threads are quite interesting.

Yeah, Flyboy- keep that site up. I don't know what you'll do when LCH comes out (maybe keep it up for those (of us) whose systems won't run it yet) but for now it's a keystone to the LB2 Community.

BTW- I visited your Youtube channel yesterday. You're building up quite the Museum of flight sims and stuff, eh?

Well I will always try and keep the LB2 site up, of course. It has, after all, been the biggest website project I've ever taken on and it has the most viewers and I've had the most positive feedback out of it, which in turn makes me glad to update it and keep it up.

I think LB2 has probably gone about as far as it can go regarding how to get it to run on different computers and I have literally EVERY file ever made for LB2 there (not many anyhow). I can see only minor updates needed from now on.

And yeah, with Combat-Helo my attention will shift somewhat to that. But there, if I need to act for both - then so be it. I would do anything to keep you guys on-side!

Flyboy, after a hard drive failure some time back, I haven't gotten around to reinstalling LB2, but with Speicht's untimely demise, your site is the one-stop-shop for things to get LB2 going. It is much appreciated.

Stratos - some goof just sent me a PM about my site having a virus on it! I checked out his report and it seems that a couple of unrelated sites have some sort of virus on them, that are hosted by the same server/company, emenace.com.

It shouldn't affect my site, but perhaps your anti-virus program is blocking you out? If you could look into that I'd be grateful.

Just wanted to say thank you for your web site. It helped me get my LB2 up and running on my old winxp pc.Tested 2 of the tutorials and a single mission. All worked and looked good. Using the ati tray tool game profile feature was also good. I think things are looking better than even back in my voodoo days.
