Hi, I am unable to run YAP2. I received the disk today in the mail. I removed WOV from my hard drive to ensure a clean install, I then proceeded to follow the instructions which came on the disk and followed it to the letter.

A. Install Wings Over Vietnam (WOV) from the CD.
B. Install the WOV upgrades named Patch1 and Patch2.
C. Run the YAPv2 installer.

I have not added or upgraded any other software or patches relating to process. I have attempted to run the software several times to no avail, I have uninstalled WOV several times. then reinstalling, even adding the latest YAP2FIX, but still nothing, I have even checked my graphic drivers and direct X, and yet still nothing. Everything loads with no errors, as it states sucessful completion of the install, however each and every time I go to run the game, from my desktop or from the WOV folder using the .exe, nothing except a windows message comes up on screen telling me the program has stopped working.

This is a plea for help!!! nope

AMD Phenon 9500 Quad-core 2.2Ghz processor
3070Mb DDR2 ram
Vista Home Premium
Geforce 8800 GTS 512
Direct X 10

raymin,

Remove it all again. Then, if you did not go into your respective hard drive programs folder itself, do that, and delete the wings over vietnam folder. Sounds like there are residules hanging around. I'll trust your up to date with your DirectX.

Try reinstalling. Or try to a different location. If you did that and still no luck, contact www.support@yankeeairpirate.net

Let's try this, uninstall everything you got. Delete the main Wings Over Vietnam folder if it's still there. It usually is.

Reinstall, JUST WOV, do not install YAP2...yet. Try it. Make sure it runs.

Apply Patch1. Try it again. Make sure it runs.

Same for Patch2. Find out if it's the core game files screwing with you.

If everything is running fine, then try to install YAP2 and let's see what you get after that.

As PFunk said. You have to play it after loading and again after patching.

Problem solved.... thumbsup Long story, so i will try and not to bore you all! I bought my copy of WOV from the Third Wire website as a direct download very recently, i tried to resolve the issues by following your suggestions, but still no joy. As i loaded the original game for the sixth time, i noticed the version number i was loading exceeded Patch 1 & 2 on the YAP2 disc, so i did not install them, i just installed YAPv2 on top of WOV, and hey presto it works. full use of everything with no problems. You now have a very happy bunny, turning and burning over the skies of Southeast Asia, what a great product. Thank you all very much for your input.

regards
