Julhelm,

Thanks for the use of your beautiful RA-5C. The story we found takes place on the USS Kitty Hawk and that carrier is not released until a later set. So rather than let such a nice piece languish, I thought I'd post a few pictures of the mission. The aircrew launched before the strike birds on an attack on the port facilities at Cam Pha. The details below:

Here's the launch:

and another...Beauty and the Beast, huh?

Sundowner painted the gear wells...

Thanks for putting the refueling probe on it. It is so stable you can plug it in.

Taking on 3000 pounds of fuel in preparation for a full AB run in and out and you really need it, too.

Here's the pre-strike run-in on the target.

Hey look! A jet flying overhead...

Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. I'm getting rid of those freighters this week.

Out-running AAA

When you hear Trout call in, make the turn and head back to the target.

Here's the pointed end at work...they missed the pier.

Look's pretty nasty ahead...

On short final to the Kitty Hawk.

Two things: The airplanes on deck are white because I haven't painted them yet. And there is no after-landing picture because I landed too hard and ended up feeding the fish.

So, thanks, Julhelm. She's beautiful.

You could move the Kitty Hawk mission set up to no. 3 or 4. But leave the Connie at no. 2.

We didn't mean to base everything around carriers but it sort of worked out that way. I had Crackerjacks in mind as our grand marketing scheme...a prize in every box.

It seems to be working out very well so far -- Crackerjacks or not.
