The B-17G Flying Fortress "Liberty Belle" made a fundraising stop at Dekalb Peachtree Airport in Atlanta the last couple weekends. Here are a couple of shots from Saturday the 21st. So much sunshine that I did not know what to do with myself! By the way, hearing those those four engines at takeoff power is always a thrill.

Very nice! Great to see those old birds up close, too.

Nice! The Belle looks pretty darn good for an old gal that flew the Atlantic and back.

Who was the pilot that day?

I've got a special place in my heart for the Liberty Belle, the people that fly and maintain and own her.

Oh, and Chris, did you take a flight?

If you think the engines sound awesome from distance, you should hear them from inside the aircraft. I couldn't take my eyes off of them.

Thanks guys. No, I did not take a ride although it was sooo tempting. I had just spent big bucks on the D300 and while my wife was understanding and supportive of the camera body purchase, I suspect that the ride would have been pushing it...

Nice shots, Chris. Here's a few shots I took of the 'ol' gal' when she visited Duxford, England last year. Hope you like them.
