In the members area under Downloads-

YAP2 FIX

This installer fixes omissions from YAPv2. If your disk is named YAPv2, you need this.
Fixed: All static aircraft skins are included The mission 760514_Gunfighters is included.

I checked the YAP2 disc I received and it is a black Memorex CD-R with nothing printed on it??? I also bought WOV with it which of course has graphics on it.

Anyone else get a CD-R without printing on it? How do I tell which version I have and if I need the dl fix?

Thanks

Just assume that you need the fix and install it. It probably won't hurt to install it even if you don't really need to. Take the bull by the horns.

If you received a blank disk, you should probably contact YAP unless you think someone on the forum will send you theirs.

Thanks for your responses!!

I'm definitely not losing sleep that I received a CD-R with no label!! I have installed the program and it appears to work, I just thought it interesting!! I really only posted this tho see if it was common or just the way they sent them.

I may go drop a post in their forum just to see what's up.

Thanks

I have the same problem. A black Memorex disk, with no label, and I have no open canopies and nekkid Thuds on the Tarmac.

I applied the new "Fix", with no skins for the nekkid models and cant find the mission that was supposed to be in there.

Running Vista32 with all permissions set for full control on that folder. Is my install porked?

Hmmm, I guess that is how they are shipping the discs. I went to their web page and sent an email through "Contact" but haven't received a reply, I'll post when/if I do!

I just opened my disk and it says "YAPv2a" not "YAPv2." 2a instead of 2. So, maybe I don't need the fix I've already downloaded?

We will be happy to send you a label for another $1.50 if you'd like one.

If you have YAPv2A, the fixes have been applied already.

That is...the missing mission and the missing skins. As far as Vista or checking that you have the up-to-date DirectX, no.

The "up-to-date" DirectX is the latest DirectX. MS has it in their downloads.

Dford, that is the way the discs come, no actual label on the disc. Mine was the same way.

The label that was being referred to was the name that you see when selecting the CD/DVD drive in Windows Explorer with the YAP2 disc in there.

"The label that was being referred to was the name that you see when selecting the CD/DVD drive in Windows Explorer with the YAP2 disc in there."

This is just the info I've been looking for, thanks!

I really don't mind not having a label but the black CD makes it hard to write on the disc. Wonder if I can copy the contents to a Lighscribe disc and burn a label on it? Either way not a big deal!!

Thanks

I can't answer about the lewd conduct of the static aircraft but I just verified that I have YAPv2 so I'll install the patch and see if I end up with a virtual air"strip" also!
Sorry, bad pun but I had to do it! wink

Haha Yep, I've tried everything I know how to do, and that Thud won't put her clothes on. Kinda frustrating, looking all pail and stuff.

Okay. I noticed the lack of "clothes" on the Thud before the YAP2 Fix and went back to it after adding the fix, and in the F-100 Gila Bend practice mission, it is now fully dressed in shiny Air Force silver with all the appropriate markings sitting quietly. Not sure why others are having difficulty with the "fix". As has been said before, YAP2 is still being massaged. thumbsup

OK I got a black and green blank disk. No label. Folder called YAPv2. It won't install. I get an error 21FC about 86% of the way through. I don't know how to get in the member forums on Yankeeairpirate.net because there is no way for me to register. So now I have YAPv2 with no access to the YAP2 members area, and no way to install YAP2. Great...

Help me out guys...

You should have already received an email with your username and password. But I got your email. I don't know what an error 21FC is. Do you?

We have had no complaints on the installer at all. It was created by Install Creator Pro onto a Memorex CD-R.

I will try to ascertain what that error code is.

A 21FC error can be caused by about a dozen things. Since this is a CD, it is not a firewall or virus software conflict. Since nobody has had this problem but you, it is not XP vs. Vista. It is very likely a bad CD-R disk or a CD-ROM reading problem. Slower, older CD-ROMs read better than newer faster ones. If you have an older drive, try that.

What is the complete error message and is it the same every time?

No, it's not the same, and I was leaning towards bad CD as well. The error is a failure on a specific file, however that file is one of three. One is a .wav file and the other two are texture files. It says that the data is invalid or corrupt. I ran the installer about 20 times, and it fails every time, at 86% or 87% on one of those three files, with error code 21FC.

I thought it could be a drive speed thing, and so I tried it on 5 different drives. 2 SATA drives, one a 54x the other a 50x, and two IDE drives, a 52x and a 40x, and on an external USB drive at 24x.

I think the CD is bad.

Can you send out a new one, preferably a YAPv2a one?

This is very frustrating.

Thanks ZC, I will get it out on Monday. Honestly, there was never any disrespect meant on my part, if you took it that way. I'm just a big mouth.
