I was told that the missions in YAP2 are all based on real live events. Were can I read about them. I hoped to find them in the member section of the YAP2 site but can only find maps and basic mission discriptions. It would be great if there were some links to the stories..

Many of these stories aren't part of Google history. That's one of the reasons we reproduced them this way. The missions are our way of retelling them. In some cases, we might be able to link to them but it was not part of our plan. In most cases, they are written nowhere at all.

If you have one or two in particular, I might be able to provide some detail but if I could write stories that people would read, this would be a book, not a video game.

I've got some good vietnam books ( Phantoms over vietnam,Cleared hot,Apache sunrise ) so they might be in there..

Anytime you are curious about one I am happy to fill in the details and links when there are any. Some people have told us they don't want history. Usually almost all the facts are right when relevant. Sometimes all we have is "The weather was lousy." or "I was on the Ranger." but the story is real.

I was reading Vietnam War Diary - the Month By Month Experiences in Southeast Asia 1964 - 1975 last month, a collection of original newspaper and magazine articles from the period as it happened, and several of the missions are mentioned in there.
They're not described in any great detail, but it's weird reading a news article about an early attack on Quang Khe and clicking that it's the same one from YAP.
