Starting out small, my Sabre M4 class medium fighter. I've got it and a 1000 credits to my name.

A pirate I tangled with jumped ship, I repaired his heavy fighter and sent it to the shipyard. The Teladi Falcon isn't worth keeping even if it is the next class up from my ship.

Saw this enemy capital ship in my sector and decided to high tail it, I'm no match for him. Yet.

Found this baby floating in space, Advanced Barracuda M3 class heavy fighter, my new ride.

A passing cap ship

After capturing a few more fighter I've got a full flight of four so I buy this Helios TM class military transport to haul them around in, it's got cargo space for my supplies and with the jumpdrive can shuttle my fighter wing around the universe.

Another captured ship to salvage

and another, this guy becomes my dedicated salvage ship.

I hired this massive transport to start building my first factory complex that manufactures light fighter shields.

You can see my factory complex on the left

I came across this battle between two races I'm friendly with, decided not to get involved.

The battle caries over into other sectors

A couple of freighters asked me to escort them to a factory they were headed to, I'm in my recently acquired Eclipse M3+ Super Heavy Fighter

We got ambushed by a bunch of pirates, I couldn't save the transports but I managed to captures this Osprey M6 class corvette in the process. I named it "Bad Escort" because of how I got it.

Space is pretty

More combat between races I'm friendly with, again I decided not to get involved and just be combat photog.

Another passing capital ship

My new Heavy Centaur M6 corvette leaves the shipyard. Still has that new ship smell

I currently have 8 factories, 12 transports doing trade runs and working fleet supply, 2 wings of heavy fighters, 1 wing of medium fighters, fighter transports for carrying them and 2 corvettes. From 1000 credits to about 100 million in assets and 20 mil in the bank.
To be continued...

jawdrop Absolutely stunning!
How many time do you spend earn the money and building your fleet and factorys?
And how are you making so much money? I´ve spend endles hours in X3 just with buy cargo, sell it again and again... That is so time consuming so I decided not to buy X3:TC.
Is that guy you who is cutting trough the hull for entering? Are you using marines for capturing ships? Is it easier to manage such a huge fleet via the new interface in TC?
Sorry, so many questions...

Keep these fantastic screens coming!

X3TC is much faster to make money in than X3R was. It took me hundreds of hours in X3R to just have a corvette and a fighter wing and a lot of that time was parking somewhere in space and turning on SETA and letting my UT's make money.

I have about 100 hours in TC, some of that is letting it run on the days I work from home but I've never just let TC run with SETA on. TC is better in every way than Reunion was and I liked reunion a lot. It's faster, the interface is much better, you make money quicker, it has more ships, sectors, missions, plot lines, etc. You can get missions from factories without docking in TC and there's an icon on the factories that have missions that show you what kind of mission it is. I do sort of miss the BBS though because I liked the stories and sometimes it would give you hints as to where to find some good derelict ships or floating cargo. I don't have a huge fleet yet, mostly in missions I fly my corvette or M3+ and manage the other 4 ships, the new "wings" commands definitely help with that.

I'm also running a few mods. A combat mod that lengthens and balances battles better. A mod that allows AI battles to cause other AI ships to bail, that's helps with income but not nearly as much as doing missions. MARS, which is a kick ass turret script. A mod that has more race patrols and Kha'ak invasions and a few other small scripts.

That's the repair laser that's built into your space suit, I repair captured ships to get more value out of them. I haven't tried marines yet but that will be soon, I'm training some up at a military outpost right now so I can start capturing. I need one of those huge transports and I don't plan on buying it.

Do the clouds and planets move? Do's it have real a space flight model?

The planets rotate and their atmosphere moves separately, I don't think they orbit stars, if they do it's so slow you can't tell. No real space flight model, the ships have some inertia but thrusters constantly correct flight path and speed and you can't turn them off to drift. You can use the thrusters to strafe left, right, up and down though.

I finished training up a group of marines last night and went looking for ships to capture. After cruising around through pirate sectors smashing pirate transports and their escorts I finally came across a pirate Caravel military transport which is the smallest ship that can be boarded. Good thing for my rookie marines.

I ordered my MARS (Motion Analysis Relay System, have I mentioned how great this turret script is? It should be be patched into the full game) turrets to keep the shields down on my target and ordered the marines to space walk over to the Caravel. "Team 1 moving out" comes the response. My MARS turrets are keeping the shield of the target below 8% so it won't fry my boarding party while also automatically switching to the best weapon to take down the missiles the doomed pirate ship launches to defend itself.

"Beginning hull breach", the boarding team reports, I can hear the cutting going on in the background. Once the team is in I order my turrets to cease fire and move off to a safe distance and listen to the reports. "Clearing Deck 1" comes the report over the sounds of a firefight inside the pirate ship. After clearing the third deck and breaching hatches along the way the team finally gets to the bridge, blows the hatch and hacks the ship's computer to turn ownership over to me.

I lost two of my 5 man team but the 3 who survived picked up some fighting skills that will help them in future boarding ops. The boarding component of TC is a blast, hearing all the reports and the firefights in the background is great. I was too busy during the fight to get screens but I've got some more to post shortly.

I love it jeevz. This is the first time I have actually seen the how x3 works. I might pick the game up. I never could get comfortable with the way the flight mechanics work though. There is always that nagging feeling that something quite right with the way these ships are moving through space.

Newtonian Physics would be nice even if it was optional but with all the other strain X puts on your processor it would probably fry supercomputers trying to do the physics in a 100 ship battle with 10 capital ships and 90 fighters and corvettes (a single carrier can carry 30 to 60 fighters). Huge fleet battles are not a rare event once the game picks up. Even the medium fighters can have as many as 12 guns firing so add all that up plus the economy and all the traders, stations and civvy ships.

It's one of the deepest games I've ever played, there's is so much to do that's it's easy to lose focus and just fly around. The game looks so good though it doesn't hurt to do that either. biggrin

Awesome shots and nice storytelling, i'm just a click away from installing X3:R here. I just have one question: I don't have X3:TC, is all the stuff you described: marines training, ship capturing included in X3:Reunion? Thank you in advance!

Ship capturing, yes. Marine training, no.

*sigh* I have just bought X3TC off Steam after this thread! Have X3R already but this looks better. Just have to keep focused this time and stop the 'I wonder where this gate will take me...' routine and never trading!

Learn to control a trader manually using the command console and the trading system extension and you can explore while trading. Get Trade Command Mk3 when you can afford it and let the traders work autonomously while you explore, fight or whatever. Missions pay well too, you can get a good base of credits built up by just doing missions.

i am interested in X3: Terran conflict. there is news on the Egosoft website that Terran Conflict version 2.0 "The Aldrin Missions" will be released in April and that a free patch will be available to those that already own the game.
