I hear you, the white flashes are annoying, but I really like the cannon rate of fire fixes-- they seem more realistic in this 1.11 version.... I may be wrong but I thought Arneh fixed rate of fire in this new version... plus shooting something locked up and lased( with cannon) seems much more accurate this time...may just be me though...


Why do people think flight sims are nerdy???

Well i have this white flasshes but not so high, for me is not a problem but i think is something to do with drivers. Also when is raining in some ocations i have some black triangles apearing a desapering and some times some anomalities in the 3d models... sometimes on them appewar a tringle in black or gray but as i say is not all the time.


Isd a graet game i just have longbow two never tried this whith this modded i haveed for long time in my closet smile but the game is amaizing also the diologs from the longbow jeje cool, i hope tjis problem could be sorted out.

My rig AMD +2800 Ghz dual 2Gb ram Nvidia 8500 with 512 Mb ram Win XP SP3

I'm not sure how other's got the test exe to work?

But i renamed the original cohokum.exe to "cohokum orig" then renamed the test.exe to "cohokum" and placed it in C:\Razorworks\cohokum with the original.exe then clicked on the renamed test exe..you then have to click run after with XP anyhow..

The reason i done that is because when i just put the test exe in the EECH folder i just got a black screen..work's for me now anyway wink

Hope this make's sense? smile

EDIT:i also deleted my ini file and config file (it comes second nature to do this after all these years) i do this when-ever i update an.exe

The triangles and other anomalies can be gotten rid of with the -nrt switch... no render to texture... and I'm not sure if they have the switch in the ini file, but probably, otherwise I used to do it on the command line. It's an nvidia thingie that goes back years.

I can also confirm the new test exe definitely fixes the white flashes issue.
Both on a GF6800GT (1600x1200) as well as a GT7600GT (1920x1200) GFX card this new gem works great.
I have no idea how people can get EECH1-modded to look and fly oh so smooth on low end (AMD 64 3500+ and core duo 5500-1.66GHZ) systems and others can't do the same with e.g. EECH2.
This is now even more my #1 fav sim !

For those of you having the problem with missing chunks out of the sky texture I have also experiencd this with an Nvidia 8800GT while trying to get my MFDs displaying nicely. The sky problem occured with the following configuration.

notnl=1
palette=0

After much trial and error the configuration that I found worked perfectly for me was:

32bit=1
nrt=0
notnl=0
palette=1
colourmfd=1
highreshud=1
tsdrender=3
tsddetail=1
texture_colour=2
texture_filtering=1
mipmapping=1
dynamic_water=1

All other settings default or whatever you want. As with all things graphics card and configuration related ymmv.

another confirm for a 7600GT.
After 1 hour Campaign-flying i saw no white flashes.

I got rid of the white flashes with a much needed defrag of my HD! The box in the sky is still there but I can deal with that smile

I too used the test exe and the first time i tried it i still had the flashes. This morning i did a clean install of EECH and allmods 1.11 and ran the game only to find the flashing(of course).I then tried the test exe again and the flashing was indeed gone. I tested on several maps in skrim/campain flying several different heli's and all was well until the black screen appeared.Twice now i have been flying only to suddenly be given a black screen. The sound is still there but no video. Then the game crashes (not the terrain error) to the desktop stating cokohum exe has caused an error. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had problems with white flashes too (actually there black flashes can also be seen), but i was able to fix them with the new cohokum test.exe along with the setting notnl=0 in the EECH.ini. notnl=1 got me those flashes again, even with the test.exe.

Now EE1 runs perfectly with the GTX 260.

I had the black screen thing... even after the flashes were gone... and then it seems to have sorted itself out. I have both nrt and notnl set at 1, but don't think that was it, as the problem had gone away before that. I can't explain it, but only hope it stays away.

The only thing I can think of is some issue with my usb port, as the connection was a tad loose... I have not flown all maps yet either, but have been okay in Cuba, in Lebanon, in Thailand... if it shows again, I'll let you know.

this game has always been a bit 'haunted' by oddball things like this... ever since I can remember...which is back to the beginning, lol.

I ended up clean installing again late yesterday due to another issue. I was trying to change up some of the map icons, however the game didn't like my changes and crashed on me on load so i had to go back and start over. But thats a totally different story. One thing i did do to make the whole troubleshooting process easier was after installing EECH(and before installing allmods) I copied the entire razorworks folder to a different location. That way if something goes wrong with the allmods install i can just delete the razorworks folder and copy the backup over. Now i have a clean eech install without having to actually install it again...you with me? It makes things much easier when dealing with a buggy vesion. Now i did play for several hours last night(on one map) without any issues. No flashes, crashes, or black screens.:)

On this last install I did the following:

installed EECH
installed allmods
changed the name of cohokum.exe to cohokum.bak
chamged cohokum test.exe to cohokum.exe
*then before running the game i deleted the eech.ini and the game.cfg.*

That way the first time i ran the game it re-created these because when you install allmods it creates a eech.ini. I found it best to delete the one allmods install creates and to let the game re-create a new one with the new exe(cohokum test.exe) in place. At this point all I can do is keep playtesting and hope for the best.

I can confirm. deleting eech.ini and game.cfg solved my ctd problem too.

I did a reinstall last night starting with EEAH rather than just EECH as I did last weekend and I encounted the same problem. I got a black screen until I actually renamed the EXEs. I did not have to do that with just my EECH + All Mods install when I made the test version. Hopefully Arneh will roll the fix into 1.12 or whatever soon.

Well weme the withe flashes where no severe but i was testing the gamewith the new exe and i put in pause and left tothe interface and the game froze i reinicialized and the graphics where reduced to 640X480 4 bit color.

the letter where i boot upare a little jaged and could not change the resolution and the colors back to where it was. I think this is a problem with the board and also there is a problem with the acess to the tools in windows

The allMods eech.ini contains default settings which should work better when you have all the mods (like enabling the new terrain textures).

If it crashes with that eech.ini, could someone narrow down which setting causes it? Compare the two eech.ini settings then try enabling/disabling settings until they are alike and check which setting causes the crashes.

I can relate Bodhammer... the first i used the test exe i just stuck it in the dir and ran the game with it renaming nothing. Then i got to thinking, what if a call is made back to cohokum.exe then the test exe would be bypassed. So thats when i renamed the files...lol.

BTW .. I ran across this site today. A directx info site..in case you are interested.
