Just a reminder. DO NOT patch YAP2 to the October 2008 level. Your game will be poochie gravy.

Cannot stress enough how much you should NOT patch up to the Oct 2008 with Windows Vista. You will have to start over from scratch.

I still recommend setting-up multiple installs.

Please, follow the simple instructions in the article to set up multiple installs.

Let me clarify, a bit. We didn't have any troubles with XP, but perhaps because we never installed the Oct 08 patch. I don't know, and I'm the guy with XP. I just patched up to what was on the YAP 2 disc and ran with it.

No problems at all. None.

I'd be cautious about the Oct 08 patch, even with XP. I have no idea what it might do. Just follow what's on the YAP 2 disc and you'll be gold.

I installed the Oct 08 patch on YAP1 and it pretty much hosed YAP and several other mod's (such as flyable MiG's). Installing the Oct 08 patch to a mod'ed WOV messes up a lot more of the mod's than just the chopper fm's in YAP. The Oct 08 patch does good things to WOV itself.

OK, so now that I'm thoroughly scared of modding the Oct 08 patch, how about the Sept 08 patch, which is what I'm running -- will YAP2 work with that?

A semi-related question: Is there any way to install just the YAP2 graphics mods to stock WOV? I'd like to up the eye candy in WOV but still play campaigns and non-YAP single missions. (I'd load the full YAP2 as a separate install). If that's not possible, is there any single recommended terrain/graphics mod for WOV? Something easy to use -- I'm a mod novice.

Thanks!

Folgore,

No to the Sept patch only also.

Far as the YAP2 terrain only to a stock WOV, your probably going to get a clash if not crash with the missions/campaigns looking for/adding in/rejecting terrain stuff. But if your so inclined, I'd say try it on a seperate install of WOV.

I personally have not tested/used any other terrain mods with WOV so I cannot recommend anything.
