I'm wrapping this up now, finishing the error checking and some other things, then I'll make a polished setup like TAW Configurator. Over the next couple of weeks I'll also include a Help PFD, like with TAWC.

What I need to know, from the few who have it, are there any features you'd like me to add before releasing V1.0? Try to keep it simple stuff, anything more I'll add to the next release.

Polak, you mentioned a save feature, I believe I added it at the time (don't remember, sorry), could you tell me about that again to make sure?

Unfortunately I do not remember also. But I think my request was to include "SAVE AS" option while saving the TM textures. As it is now you can only save under the original name of bmp.

That was it, thank you. All else is functional (i.e. batch processing), should be released by tomorrow.

TAW TEXTURE MANAGER 1.0 IS RELEASED!

Sorry for the delay.

First, remove your Texture Manager folder or uninstall it (I don't believe I had an installer for this program until now). And here it is...

http://198.65.10.229/DID/TAW/TAWTM.zip

++++++++++

Please keep something in mind when batch processing:

+ You can add a prefix and/or suffix to all output (BMP, TM, COL).
+ You can specify a different output folder (default is original file path).
+ You can use a combination of the above.

Thanks again mikew for writing the actual save routines (note credit on the About box smile ) and I hope this is just the beginning of our collaboration with making TAW modding tools! cheers

Let me know if you have any issues or need any features added.

mikew, I don't know the subject matter as well as you guys so if we need to make any changes to how the program works or maybe add some things to it, we can always do this at any time.

One thing I don't like is if you use your PC while batch processing lots of files, the program acts as if it's locked up until processing is complete. Even the progress bar stops, but you can monitor your output folder in Explorer and see the BMP or TM/COL files being added to the folder. Otherwise if you Execute and not pick on anything until finished it looks fine. That's more polish I'll eventually add to the program. My work-related AutoCAD programs do look fine when processing and are a LOT larger, while designed to process thousands of files at a time. I'll look into how I did it.

BTW, some features were just a carry-over from my work programs, probably not needed in this case. And other features I removed completely (a batch scheduler really wasn't necessary).

Hope it goes well, let me know where we need to take it from here...

Mark,
That's a slick piece of work. Much appreciated. thumbsup

It seems to be working fine, although it'll take a long time to try out all the features. smile

The only 'issues' I've seen were:
1. A 'registry setting' warning on the first run....but I did have a previous version of the program on this PC though and I ignored the advice (as usual) to remove it.
2. On the 'TAW' tab at the lower left, the program automatically fills in the 'Path', but leaves the 'File name' field blank on first running. The 'problem' is that until an .exe for TAW is selected, the program will give a warning every time you try and do something. It might be better to default this field to point to _f22.exe?

As the 'TAW Texture Manager', I'd say that this program is finished and we need to move on to something else. The only extra feature I would selfishly like would be to add the EF2000 palettes to the palette list, maybe as another radio button in the 'Colour palette' frame.
Maybe this can be done already?

Thanks again for this utility, the attention to detail is amazing, even down to spelling 'Colour' correctly. wink

Thank you very much for the compliment and for the code which of course is the "brains" of the program.

Both problems are due to a Registry setting incompatibility with the incomplete "first" version (this being the first real installable finished version). I didn't take any incompatibles into account this time (i.e. a string value where an integer is expected), although normally I do between releases. Any time my programs run into this problem, they attempt to reset their Registry values to good values and then the program restarts itself. You can do this manually from the pull-down menu with Settings > Registry > Reset.

In the rare case the problem keeps the program from starting (which would take Registry sabotage), you can run ...\TAW Texture Manager\Support\Reset.exe to clear all values outside of the program. The reason I have multiple options is because users come in all skill levels, but it's always best if your program can correct itself without much hassle other than resetting up your settings. Of course the power user can use Windows RegEdit.exe and delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\TAW Texture Manager, the program will just think it's being run for the first time.

My fault, I never mentioned clearing the Registry settings, but it sounds like the program fixed itself (always a good thing smile ).

On a relative note, remember that once you have everything setup the way you like, use Settings > Export from the pull-down menu for importing your settings later. This includes your current Queue and Folder. Note that you can choose which settings to import on the Import Settings dialog box, usually I just choose all of them.

You want me to add something to "TAW ..." for EF2000?? Heh, you don't have to twist my arm to get EF2K involved. smile Sure, we can do this.

Well...it's the same with Left/”Centre”/Right in HUD Options, I'm just going with the game's spelling, a must sometimes when a setting is read right off the text box. But normally I wouldn't spell like this in my programmes. smile
