Don't have time to translate it atm but there's some amazing stuff there. Infra-red spectrum illumination flares? Wind corrected cluster bombs? I'll take four.

Integrating it with Black Shark is the exciting part for me.

If only the Ka-50 could laser designate for the A-10, we could do Joint Ops.

Shows how goofy the world has become that it is feasable that we could be fighting side by side with the Russians again...

I cant wait. I have never liked Russian hardware so its difficult for me to get really excited when strapping into a KA-50. But the A-10.....mmmmm...yummy.

And what tedious chores would they be?
Which ones can be removed?
What consitutes useless detail?

You have to be careful here as removing those tedious chores and useless detail is what turns a by the book sim into a a dumbed down aracde mode for 12 year olds.

To me those tedious chores are part of the atraction.
I want to start her up and fly her correctly.
Flipping switches to get a missle off is fine - thats what they need to do in real life.
Alternate methods - auto start etc. 1 button weapon set up etc. are fine, I won't use them but others can.
What I do begrudge though is loosing the by book real world bits because someone else doesn't want to learn how to use them.
Let us have full real. You can use the shorcuts and helper modes available - I have no problem with that.

Considering that they have a certain budget and time - if they spend time in adding features that will interest 1% of their costumers they won't have time to add features that interest 50% of their costumers.

I spent countless hours in Mission Making trying to create a live environment in LO/LOFC - I would rather see Radio Chatter, Tower AI, ground vehicles that react to your presence, simultaneous TO and landings better Wingman AI ... etc.

The tasks of creating detailed avionics and creating radio chatter and AI are different people and different resources.

You aren't going to put your FM guy on radio chatter duty for example. You aren't going to do it with your avionics guy either.

DCS is a WIP, and as such there will always be improvement of it. BTW, all the features in the sim seem to interest a good deal of their customers, but hey - what do I know, I only see that people are pretty darned pleased with the product.

Those who don't like to operate every little part of the avionics use the quick-start keys, they'll throw the ABRIS into map mode, and go off to shoot things. Don't like having to handle the engines and flight parameters? ... well, what can I say - use easy FM.

I believe Dart is one of the people here who was pretty against switchology - or at least he didn't like it much. He's learning, as I understand, these things piece by piece which is in fact a good way to do things.

The customers here are the hard core crowd, whether they jump into it wholesale or pick and use pieces of what they like.

The switches aren't really a big deal. I've been flying BS since the day the english version came out and I've been getting plenty of kills and I fly the beast well. What I haven't done is learned the start up procedure. Until the last couple of days. I use a check list and I'm finding that I'm having fun with it. Thankfully ED gave us a quick start cheat. That should satisfy everyone.

I've seen posts over at Eagle's forums from people that weren't pleased. Those posts disappeared in a short time. Could that be why you "only see that people are....pleased"?
