America's Army 3 Announced

"The United States Army announces America's Army 3 will be released later this year, offering a new installment in this first-person shooter that serves as a recruiting tool for the military. The game will be built on the Unreal Engine 3, and will feature a greater emphasis on role-playing elements than its predecessors, as evidenced by this portion: "AA3 highlights different aspects of the Army from Army Values and the Warrior Ethos to Army career opportunities and lifestyles both on and off duty.

Through their in-game characters, AA3 players will be able to experience the way Soldiers train, live, and advance in the Army. AA3 players will also experience different types of technologies and equipment used by the Army's high-tech Soldier. Players are bound by Rules of Engagement (ROE) and gain experience as they navigate challenges in team-based, multiplayer, force on force operations. In the game, as in the Army, accomplishing missions requires teamwork and adherence to the seven Army Core Values.

In the game, a player's actions and demonstrated Army values will have consequences that are integral to success in gameplay and will affect a player's career progression."

They are currently accepting reservations to carry your AA2 nickname to the new game, and are also taking applications to participate in the upcoming beta test.

The Liberation of Belorussia, 1944 – a full campaign focusing on the offensive of the 1st Baltic and the 3rd Belorussian Fronts carried out on June 23-28 as a part of the Belorussian Strategic Offensive in 1944. Includes 5 new maps.

Strategic Breakthrough, 1940 – a short campaign focusing on the Blitzkrieg in France in June 5-14, 1940. Includes 3 new maps.

4 new "European style" maps for multiplayer battles and the editor.

The DVD-version includes the latest Uber Patch with a large third campaign, Battle for Moscow, a Random Battle Generator which dynamically creates custom combat scenarios, the ability to create new missions in the included editor, and much more.

F.A.Q. about this 2.460 Upgrade:

1. Yes you pay for it, it is not a free upgrade unless you just bought the game in the last 2.5 months. (If so, a representative from eSim Games will contact you personally.)

2. If you have never owned SB Pro PE, then the cost for the new version, manual and hardware dongle is $125.00 US dollars. If you just simply want the software upgrade, pre-orders are being taken right now for $25.00 US dollars. If you want the upgrade and a new, updated manual, then the cost is $30.00 US dollars.

3. The upgrade version comes on a disk, you can (and should) un-install any beta's or earlier versions of the game. But leave the dongle already installed and in.

Battlefront has released an excellent interactive strategy guide for their game, Theatre of War 2 . It is not a requirement to have Theatre of War 2 to buy, install and run this strategy guide. The guide is called " Strategy of War ", it is 20 US dollars and loaded with fantastic information, diagrams, and pictures. Battlefront has more detailed information on the strategy guide here , along with a demo of the strategy guide, screens, and interactive samples. Well worth it for any SimHQ member into the tactical aspects of these type of games.
