Easy way is just download with full support and it keeps their cost down and helps us by keeping the price down on the cost of missions just a thought.

As a newbie, I have to add my two cents.

I am new to the Thirdwire scene. However, in the past month, I have bought WOV, WOE and SF2 (I'm running Vista with a DX 10 capable graphics card).

Since I first bought WOV, I have been going to the YAP site trying to buy it. I can't even get YAP 1 let alone YAP 2. So, I'm not sure what the strategy is here. From what I've heard from others, the program sounds great. What few images I've been able to find look great. The missions sound great.

At this point, I'm probably just as frustrated as the loyal YAP 1 users. I'd like to just buy the program and experience it instead of hearing how great it is.

I think I will sit in for one more card.

You detect a strategy? You failed to read all the explanations, didn't you? YAP1 is not for sale. It was completed and pulled down forever. Gone. Poof! All deals kept. 100 missions. Plug pulled.

YAP2 is taking longer to produce than we had expected...but then I think I said that clearly several times.

We have not announced the release of YAP2 yet. We have shown some screenshots because we are very proud of what we have been doing and thought people would like to see them.

When it is for sale, it will probably be announced first on SimHQ. If you do not see an announcement or banner ad, it is not on the market yet.

I have a lot to do to complete YAP2 so for now I will discontinue responding since apparently all there is to gain is the occasional offering of two cents.

Fair enough, I find comments where people feel entitled to something they haven't paid for annoying. Some of the ones I've seen recently for SoW are breathtaking in their arrogance.

I think a lot of us got psyched for a Christmas release for YAP, unfortunately.

If refueling is included, and an easy install, that's great news.

To everyone who is eagerly waiting for the release of YAP2 (which certainly includes me): let's show our maturity and not let our emotions (such as impatience) get the better of us. I'm sure that the YAP team is doing all anyone would be able to do to release YAP2 asap. Let's not create any unpleasantness here by whining and complaining and criticizing and begging. Nobody wants YAP2 to be released as much as the YAP team does, so let's show them our support by behaving ourselves (at least in this forum).

I'd love to offer you more than "two cents", but I keep getting "Purchase will be available soon". fearful

I'm not trying to tick anyone off and maybe I'm way off base here, but it appeared to me that the hold-up was finishing up the website to lure newbies to the program. I was merely saying that as a newbie, I'm sold, I just need to get my hands on a copy.

If I'm wrong about the hold up, my sincere apologies to anyone I've offended.

Guys-

The build of the website is much more than window dressing and not initialized to attract "X-Box FPS'rs" that do understand what YAP is all about. It's about product quality and delivery.

It serves to be informative to those that might be interested but more so will serve as the source for members to access all of the newer offerings in YAP2. Members will have access to a wealth of information and content not previously available in YAP1.It also will allow the YAP Team a direct interface to members outside of the age old email that 05 was most likely inundated with on YAP1. The site is being built to be dynamic and allows 05 the ability to populate, update and edit without having to touch a web editor. This all will improve delivery of subsequent missions and content at a speed he is most likely not use to.

Again the idea was not bring big $$, this is a niche product and YAP understands that, but more to inform and improve on the product. While it has been a lengthy process, there was more going on (on my end) behind the scenes besides the website. Adding terrain details; trees-tiles-clouds-etc. which has been going on and was not completed 2 months ago.

I offered up to 05 my services, at no charge, to help bring the YAP website up to a professional look that was fitting to the concept of the idea. This was no small task with the current build and administrative backend, although not visible, currently at 750+ files/images and over 100 folders. I apologize for the delay. Please be patient and I'm sure you will be happy with the end result.

I'm completely new to the 3rd Wire community and am a hopeless wannabe virtual Naval Aviator. Exactly what do I have to purchase in order for me to fly this YAP2?? I mean, I realize that it is not yet ready for prime time, but what software do I need to have ALREADY installed in order for YAP2 to run, once it does come out? Do I have to have Vista to see this in all it's glory? Is it a multi-player game, or strictly single player?

There's some indication- and I could be wrong- that they will sell a copy of Wings over Vietnam (the original game) to you with YAP2, maybe already patched over.
