Racers,
Just an update on tomorrow's opening race in the JSGT300 series.
1. Thank you for the superb turnout for this series! It's great seeing 15 racers sign up to participate. The more the merrier - more competition is always a good thing.
2. There will be a mandatory driver's meeting during the Warmup session after qualifying, and prior to the first heat. We'll be talking about 1st lap driving on cold tires, the head-long rush into turn 1, driving ettiquette, etc.
Keep in mind that although the various car models are pretty evenly matched in this series, they all have their own strengths and weaknesses. Those weaknesses are great to exploit, but not to the extent that you end someone's day with a poor racing move. Patience is alwasys the rarest of virtues on lap 1, but try to maintain your frosty edge during those opening laps and then execute your out-braking and overtaking moves with thought and precision.
Also be aware that we'll have folks of varied experience levels, both in terms of online racing, using GTR2, etc. Don't expect everyone to brake where you do. Hopefully during pre-race practice you'll get to see where some folks are braking for their corners and store that in your memory for the race.
Likewise, some driving in traffic is a great idea so that you can find braking and turn in points that won't be hidden by the car in front of you. Always embarrassing to go sailing off into the grass when you miss a braking point, because your only reference was blocked by the car ahead. Not that I've
ever done that before...

See you tomorrow afternoon!
