Fantastic, this also works for TrackIR 1 & 2! Tried it, works perfect. Someone just saved me some Christmas money. I would like to have the 6dof support, but for now my TrackIR 2 will have to do.

Cheers

.

I got burned on this. This "fix" disabled my TrackIR in game. I didn't back-up the original file, so now I'm on the boards @ DCS begging for original. I didn't realize this was for older versions of TrackIR.

It does say so in the readme smile

The link above is no longer working. Is it possible for someone out there with the DLL to upload it again, or send it to me in an email? My TrackIR 2 is running strong, and I'd hate to have to ditch it for version 4 for a single sim. Not to mention, it's not just a drop in the hat purchase.

This sounds very interesting. I have a perfectly good TIR1 which I was very dissapointed to find out is not compatible with DCS BS. From reading this thread it appears that this fix will allow me to use my TIR1 with BS. My question is this, do I need any other software to make this work? or simply use the DCSFreeTrackEnFix, slap a reflective dot on my head and fly?

Am unable to try it on my BS pc at the moment.

Thanks.

AFAIK NaturalPoint put an end to using that "fix" along with DCS:BS!?

As I said before, that act alone was enough bull.... for me since I'm not letting them dictate when to upgrade my hardware! And why should I? I have a TIR2 that works perfectly fine in ArmA/LO:FC/IL2/F4:AF/etc and there is no reason (except money) why it shouldn't work in DCS:BS as well (2DOF only of course).

Sorry for the rant but I really dislike NP's business tactics and treatment of their old TIR1/TIR2 customers!

Naturalpoint have been fighting hard to protect their patent but it's a shame they don't support the older units. It doesn't say good things for existing users of their pro range, are they going to be left out in the cold when a new swanky TrackIR unit is launched?

Well, the good news is that you can still find the fix online if you search hard enough. I found a mirror, replaced the .dll as instructed and it worked like a charm. Just search for the filename itself.
