I just bought WOV and wanted to get the YAP add on. When I go to http://www.yankeeairpirate.net/ nothing seems to work. I click on "Visitor", and then "Buy YAP", and nothing happens. Even when I click "Screenshots" or "Videos", still nothing happens. Is there a problem with the site, or is there something I'm not doing right?

Thank you for any help.

Hang on. We are on it. It's the last piece of the puzzle.

Trust me. We will make a lot of noise when it's open. We have huge bills to pay.

Yes. WOV CD plus 83006 patch and 51506 patch (included) plus YAP installer. 3 clicks.

We will try to accommodate the newest patch when we have time. The helicopter FM is now as good as it can get and we do not wish to surrender it at this time...especially for a Vietnam simulator.

YAP v2 is targeted at people who do not necessarily have WOV. That means they are not as sophisticated in making modifications as people on this forum. We try to get them up to speed with a minimum of reading or decision making. There are options for Plug and Play controls with Logitech and Saitek joysticks for newbies. They will have to choose which environment is right for their computer. They may have to skip Sundowner's Hi-Res skins but I hope not. The rest is done.

All they need to know about the aircraft, its peculiarities, background, gameplay, target and how to attack are right there before them through the screens presented. They can review the briefing mid-mission and even zoom in on the actual target. It's as real as we can make it to run on a Dell laptop.

We have 5 practice missions that a lot of thought and work went into. Since nobody wants to practice...something real pilots do constantly...we wanted to entertain them into learning what they need to know. Things like knowing the view commands, knowing how to navigate, using the radar, even just looking around. There is a gunnery mission at Gila Bend, a night landing of a KC135 at U Tapao, carrier quals, night traps and helicopter practice. After those quick missions they will feel ready to go. Then we stick them on the deck of the Ticonderoga and send them off to attack the Quang Khe Ferry on the first official day of the air war. Even that leap might stir some thoughts...like "WTF am I doing?" That's what they thought that morning so the player should, too.

Gila Bend: taxi, take off, radio "hold down", formation, view options, refueling, navigation, weapons selection, gunnery, landing, taxi to parking.

U Tapao: Lights, increased drag, glide slope, VASI lights, thrust reversers, taxi to parking.

Carrier Quals: configure (hook), approach, landing.

Night Trap: Hey. Nobody said it was going to be easy but we have new lights anyway.

Can Tho: Vertical takeoff, translation, pedal turns, collective, use of drag, vertical landing.

Holy #$$%^!! Get me out of here!

The mission packs will be a little more. They each contain at least 15 missions and most contain a new aircraft carrier and aircraft. It's the only way we could distribute the 4 gigs of goodies.

Initial purchase for someone totally new to the game, about the same as before. The complication occurs when someone already bought YAP, already has WOV or only wants to buy the goodies.

So you are saying someone like me who already owns WOV, will have a slightly lower price than someone who does not own WOV ???

The mission packs are not very big even with the objects included. The installer really smashes it down. The initial product is 1.2 gigs and will be sent as a CD. If the buyer doesn't have WOV, a WOV CD will part of the package.

We will issue the packs in order. What that means is, someone can buy them out of order but we won't be going back and sending things already issued. In fact, 95% of the buyers bought in order anyway so all those Hueys and Spads we sent over and over again were superfluous anyway.

Plain paper wrapper. YAP Logo burned on CD. The usual installation process.

We will ship anywhere in the world. It is a great source of pride that people all over the Earth like Yankee Air Pirate.

The mission packs will contain at least 15 missions.

for my understanding only:

I have (buyed) all YAP missions,
I have bought WoV

I buy Yap II.
does it mean that i pay the same price like some one who:

does not have any YAP mission
has no WoV???

i´m confused... screwy
maybe i´m wrong.
but if it is so i would be very angry with you yap guys.

I love animals.
My favorite animals are:
Bunnys and Chicks.

You would not have to buy WOV again to use YAP2.
You would not pay full rate for YAP2 as a YAP1 customer.
You will have to pay something because this is a different product that costs us a lot of time and money to create. Your YAP1 does not stop working, you know.
You will most certainly have to pay freight and handling for the CD.

On the other hand, you bought a product that was delivered as promised. It was terminated upon completion. There is/was no offer to provide free updates forever. Try telling Autodesk that you want a free update to 3DS Max since you paid $4000 for the last version. Or Creative Suite 4 since you paid $7000 for CS2. Or Dreamweaver CS4 because you had GoLive 5.0. I tried that. They told me I was dreaming.

There might be a way for current customers to download YAP2. But it will still be huge.
