Does anyone have recommendations for free and complete (e.g. VC) aircraft for FSX Acceleration?

Uh... well short of recommending you use Avsim's "file search", could you give us a little more idea as to what kind of planes you want?

Personally I enjoy the planes at PAD: http://www.premaircraft.com/ as they have VC's, they fly nice, many bush planes and regional turboprops. These days I love the DHC-5 Buffalo, which is a twin turboprop cargo STOL plane that can carry 32 people with equipment.

Mostly trial and error when it comes to aircraft for me. I've deleted more then i've saved.

Look up Mike Stone, Kirk Olsson and Kazunori Ito for some great aircraft.

God that search blows (yes, I've been looking there), along with fsdownload, etc. I can't believe how incredibly bad the searching/categorizing is at these sites.

I like the turboprops and commercial jets, along with large military (cargo) aircraft. Haven't gotten into the military jets much.

To my knowledge, Mike Stone and Kazunori Ito don't do virtual cockpits.

Think this may help all those in the elusive search for a great aircraft to fly.
Let me start off with AlphaSim's F-105D which was released as freeware recently. Does not work in FSX for some reason so this shot was taken in FS9.
Has a VC which looks better then the 2D cockpit as half the gauges were missing.

Package includes an F-105D and F model with 5 skins.

Available here
http://www.alphasim.co.uk/fwd.html

Keep it to freeware please and include link if possible.

One key to your question is in asking for aircraft for FSX Acceleration. Which personally I think is a very smart move as chances are that if it doesn't work with FSX Acceleration you may looking at an aircraft that is not a true FSX aircraft.

Once again, here's Phil Taylor's "Official" list of true FSX freeware aircraft that are fully FSX compatable.
http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/archive/2008/08/31/available-freeware-aircraft-add-ons-and-fsx.aspx

Unfortunantly the link to the original full list, with both freeware and payware fully FSX compatible aircraft, linked in Phil's message was lost in a forum data base corruption. But his original freeware list is still up and a great place to start.

Once you start looking at the list of true FSX available you may start noticing that certain freeware authors have already made the move to full FSX compliance. This should make seraching for more and newer aircraft made by them a little easir.
