Just got the Russian version of this sim... been playing in "game" mode but that grew old fast, lol... Now I've glanced through the 2 pdf manuals, (to get them both printed at Kinkos is over 300 dollars, I said NO THANKS.) Alot to digest, more then I have the time for.... was wondering if anyone knows of a quick start guide like someone did for Lock On back in the day... could really use one for this... you know a basic "here's the keys you press and why" to do a simple attack mission or whatever. You know learn on the fly. Thx for any info.

Ive created a basic key chart for quick referance you could use. But the fasted way to get going with this sim is to DL and view the producers notes- Link- http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=133&scr=products&lang=enIf you create a joystick profile with the criticals asigned like the following pics it will also help. The first stage of the X52pro trigger ive assigned to "SHKVAL Lock" the second fires the cannon. My X52 Throttle ATM

Col.Kurtz, thanks a lot for the key chart! Exactly what I was looking for! Magnum: We need Beach to come up with some Falcon-style tutorials ASAP.

Hehe... do what I did: start SLOW. I created a simple mission with the Ka-50 sitting on an airbase. Then I "cheated" all system on, took off and flew around a bit getting used to the trim feature and the general feeling of flight (which is excellent IMO). Then started using the Shkvall and started blowing things up with cannon and missiles. Great fun. Didn't even touch waypoints, the whole ABRIS system, autopilot, radio and dozens of other things.
If I get more comfortable with the sim (and if I find the time) I'd like to do a simple "take off and blow up stuff"-tutorial.

Hehe... Well, I can take off and blow up stuff now. I've started working on such a basic tutorial, I hope to finish it later today. It will be REALLY basic, just covering the most important systems via a simple Mission. No detailed ABRIS, no manual start-up, just something to get people new to BS up and going in as little time as possible. I might then add stuff to it if there's actual demand. Stay tuned.

Sounds good ParaBellum. Col Kurtz, that is one excellent chart. I've saved that jpeg to my pictures folder as you mentioned, and then open/maximized it with my photoviewer just before launching BS. Then, in game, I hit 'esc' and alt-tab to my desktop, look at what I need, then click back into the game to keep flying. It's really helped me so far! SO far no game crashes when doing that, but not sure how it will work for everyone else. Otherwise, I'll just print it out, but I need a big sheet of paper to do that and keep it legible. Thanks tons! Maybe someone else who needs a little helping hand can use this tip as well.

COL Kurtz, by chance can you share your X52Pro profile? If not, do we have to build a seperate profile outside of the gmae via Saitek SST software and also match them up within the game? I know this sounds redundant, but have had to do similiar with LOMAC. Thanks
Matt
