I really don't have an answer for that, but since the last patch released was awhile back, I believe before the expansion pack was released, I would think off hand NO.

I'm going for it then. My IL2:1946 has SecureRom and I've had no problems from it.

I looked my first and last name up on a people search one time and found over 1100 instances....
It was unusual for me to meet another Neal outside family (3 of us named after 1) until the 70's,
maybe late 60's.
What kicks me is how many people see me spell my name and still spell back Neil. Oh well!

One of my best friends from the Army is named Neal.

Guess the name didn't seem to strange to me.

It's not a strange name, IMO. There's just a LOT more Bobs and Daves in my generation, from the 50's.

Well I got it and first thing had to synchronize and still on some screens the mouse is very drunk,
the game very slow to notice button of key input, they have to stay down maybe 1/2 second. I have
an older PC, 2600 Sempron with right now 1G RAM and Fx5200 video with graphics set LOW and no music.
I have another G of RAM that was out over power problems when I also ran an ATI X800 off 350W PS.
The X800 seems to have gone bye-bye so the RAM or power situation may be good, perhaps better play.

I have no problems with mouse when on the Nav or Attack maps (btw, how to zoom the Attack map?) and
not terrible out on the bridge. Go to targeting and drunk mouse again, takes forever to fire shots
and get the periscope down and moving the reticle is always big jumps.

I'll be spending lots of time in the essentials thread just looking for what you actually press to
do things not explained in the on-disk manual at all, and the training missions just don't cover.
When you're being shot at isn't the time to figure out how to raise, lower, and traverse a gun!

So far, I liked Aces of the Deep a lot better! I've read posts at subsim where others were asking
why things from earlier versions (I and III) were dropped for example and noted bugs in 2007 that
I dunno if they were fixed or not so I quit reading! I guess I'll have to pay attention to dates
on posts here as well and look for later changes.

Hello - I'm new to sub sims (IL2 fan) but I found used SHIV Gold Edition at GameStop for $20 so I purchased it based a lot on the many cool screen shots I have seen on this forum. I'm slowly reading the Essentilas thread but off tha bat will the Gold Edition run fine as is?

Thanks

Reno

Thanks Wireman! I have to tell you I'm still getting the hang of this sim BUT the graphics are pretty amazing! I'm SO impressed by the water, waves and sunlight shimmer on the boats under the water - that is cool.

So what is TMO and RFB?

Also my first Instant Action was a hoot! I was in the middle of three IJN destroyers!!!!! LOL - what a crappy skipper I am!
