The Leopardo 2E, Cv 90/35NL and Pizarro are all 'crewable vehicles' with the best 3d interiors so far in SB.

Centauro and VEC are currently AI only, (which includes 'player directable' with new 'observe here' and 'shoot here' commands in the 3d world), but are intended to be made crewable in a future patch.

MRH-90 and the ADA is also AI only, but the medium-long term future is less clear.

I'm interested in buying SB Pro PE. Should I go ahead now or wait for the upgrade. Also, not being big on multi-player is this worth the money for single player.

Kind of depends whether you need it now, or want the single-install convenience of waiting.

Ssnake has indicated the total cost will be the same either way. (Less if you buy now and don't update, but that doesn't make a whole heap of sense, as the new vehicles are really nice).

Is it 'worth it' for single player? I would say yes, without much fear*. I find that I keep coming back for 'just one quick go on the tank-range' or a 'quick run through' of a particular tutorial or other simple mission quite frequently, as well as setting aside time for a longer session several times a week.
The different vehicles have subtle variations in their fire control computers, sights and other systems, the interplay of which can be very interesting - not to mention trying to figure out just what to do with the light vehicles so they survive long enough to provide their vital support functions to the infantry and heavy armour...

I do enjoy a good Co-op but don't actually play online as often as I intend to.

*Assuming that you find modern land warfare interesting wink

Thanks Lieste,

I always did like modern land warfare. Looks like I'll wait for the new update.

Well, Pro PE already has more than enough content to keep you busy - in addition, the skills you pick up before the patch hits will not go to waste (it's not like they change the ballistics model with every patch). Also, but I guess that's a bit unfair, note that we're dealing with "eSim-Time" here.. just because they say "january" does not mean they'll hit this date wink Lastly, installing the "Beta" patch (and the AFAIK also the upcoming one) is usually just a single click affair, so you won't have to apply x patches on top of each other.. so I'd get it ASAP

Well further to that... if you do purchase 'now' then I'd download and install the BETA (2.370) while waiting for the delivery of the Codemeter and manual, and I wouldn't bother with the 2.328 on the install media.

The 'update' will be on a new CD when it is shipped, so it will probably also be a 'standalone' install as far as I can tell so far.

January does look to be 'late january' at the earliest.

We're sending out CDs with version 2.370 for quite a while now (since, I think, spring 2008). It's perfectly safe to use the official installation media (well, at least the new ones) as we're constantly updating them as soon as an earlier production batch runs out. We also have a program of ordering new disks at $7.50 (including shipping) for those who'd like to "update" their original 2.251 disk or so; of course, with the 2.4x upgrade that will become a moot point for a while (at least for all of you who actually plan on ordering it, probably (hopefully!) the majority of owners).

Hey Ssnake......I assume that the price of the full version will increase after the update. Have you released the the new price of the sim? Or will the sim stay at $125 with the option to update later?

Forgive me if I missed it...I skimmed the forum and might have missed it. smile

We will probably offer both the standard package plus upgrade as a separate item, at least for a few months. At some point it will probably make sense to merge the two, but we haven't made a decision about that yet (still busy with bug fixing).
