No joke, it's a place called Newberry Springs. Right in the middle North and South between I40 and I15. It's almost exactly 20 miles East of Barstow.

Striker,

Just as I suspected.

Look it up.

If it's south of Harvard,, some one should tell "Google Maps"

I hope you guys know that I'm just being a wise ASS.
I'm sure Striker knows where he's going & why.
I wish Striker all the best & hope he can be back on online with a hi-speed connection sooner than later.
Last Saturday was dark on F4:AF TS.

I, for one, will miss you & your Saturday F4:AF Campaign. wave

Likewise, UTR. Would enjoy getting together for a group outing in lovely Balkans or Korea with the gang, perhaps next weekend. I believe any of us should be able to host; I'd be happy to try.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

I'm almost settled in and I'm going to be checking with Verizon this coming week on the DSL situation. I checked the up and down speed of our current one and it's 1.08MB/256 and 900ms so it's basically crap for gaming, at least hosting anyhow. Hopefully I'll only be staying here for the short term and I can relocate to a place with better service some time near April. Sooner if possible.

Hey Striker! Good to hear from you. At least you DO have internet service now, and that's a step in the right direction.

We've talked about this before, but it's worth repeating: you don't have to host the sim flight clients in order to continue managing a campaign (or any flight) on-line. Really. There is no need:

1. You can set up a campaign or a flight on your machine, offline and save it.

2. You send the saved files to one of us.

3. One of us hosts the sim in the normal way. You do your thing verbally. We all fly. He and you both save the mission after all have RTB.

4. You can review the results off-line, any time, as you always have done. Run the thing forward if you like, make adjustments such as setting up AI flights and so forth. Save.

5. Send the saved campaign files to the person who will host (the clients and campaign files) that next week. Or you can have that person join you online Saurday, presuming one of us can connect to you...no need even to fly - he just saves your campaign setup. We all join him, and fly as always.

6. You can either make last minute changes yourself online, or coordinate suggestions with the host who makes the changes. We fly. Then that person and you both save the campaign and we're all set.

7. Rinse and repeat.

Let's try Eugene's suggestion. 1 through 7

One of us can host.

Any volunteers?
