As some of you may know, this is an experiment to see if a regular, semi-organised form of racing can be instituted for people who may not have the time to make the necessary comitment to a league but are capable of runnning quite competitively. Also, the Saturday morning time-slot is a boon for west-coasters who otherwise have a tough time aligning their schedule with different time zones for multiplayer. Two weeks ago we staged a very enjoyable race at VLM_Mid-Ohio with a 5-car grid that would have been bigger but for incompatibility difficulties excluding at least four drivers from the server. Running a stock track this week increases the possibility for wreckers but we are hoping for mature, competent racing that will not necessitate the use of a password. Ultimately, if we reach critical mass (i.e. a core grid of, say, 8 - 10 regulars) we'd consider dedi servers, race stats and all that good stuff. We want to keep it "loose"; some of us have kids, jobs and all the usual distractions.
