That's engine braking.

It's crazy how well these little 2.0L engines can handle the revs. The camera car is the same year and make of Neon that we were driving so that sound is what I'm used to too.

What was that yellow car that passed the camera car, with ease it seemed like, about 3/4 of the way through the video? I want to say it looks like a Mazda, but I can't tell.

It was an RX-7. If you look back to where the camera car passed me...look in the mirror and see the yellow Mazda overshooting and almost taking me out. You can see me heavy on the brakes and avoiding him as he skidded past me. He went through the grass and came back out (out of control) right in front of me. He qaul'd 17th (missed quals) and finished 6th. He was on a mission!

I am alive, but feel like I spent the weekend at the gym working out! 1.5 hour stints X3 were kind of tough...but at the same time a major blast. Oh...and driving at night??? Woohoo! Goal #1 met...we finished 24 hours still running fast.
