Hi, all.

i would like to know if there is any realistic difficluty among the three possible in the setting. the "high" set looks very hard to be realstic. i keep hit them but minimum effect while im being hit with much bigger effect.

thanks.

Aside from the realism setting, it also depends what forces you're up against (i.e. how powerful are their weapons?) and how are you hitting them when you hit them? Full frontal hits will often not do much, for example. I honestly don't know what the realism settings change exactly, but I do know a lot of scenario designers have you fighting superior forces keep the challenge up despite the enemy just being AI.

It's also just a very difficult sim. I just learned to always lose. ;\)

Howdy supercobra, your name sounds familiar, Yes SB1 my all time favorite war game playing on line, I would still be trying to play this with people online if I had a decent internet connection anyhow maybe this winter I will get high speed again (I moved, and have been busy). Have not played in awhile but I think the realistic setting had more to do with situational awareness on your map, I remember the other settings besides high or realistic was the exact spot you lazed would show up on map. Was looking at manual and did not see any info. If I run across more info I will let you know. Damn I miss the online battles with that game, good stuff!

Read this from Pro version may apply to SB1 as well

"Ssnake have explained it this way:
"Reaction speed of own and enemy troops, as well as accuracy of enemy fire.
With easy, Blue gets a bonus, in medium both sides act similarly fast (so the only difference would be the Blue gunnery accuracy which depends on the player's gunnery rating), and with "hard" difficulty Red would have an advantage at least in reaction speed, but potentially also with the gunnery accuracy".

I like the challenge from the realistic setting its not that bad human tankers online are much where much deadlier!

I definitely second that.

SB1 online is perhaps the most challenging game there is. It is not easy - I agree, but when you really get angry and you want to spank your opponent you need to prepare to the battle. It really works. Study the terrain for proper placement and maneuver of your forces. This is one of few games where with proper plan and time coordination you can plan and pull up some really cunning schemes to surprise and outmaneuver your even much more skilled opponent. Its very intense and satisfying.

Realistic setting on man vs.man has no comparison or para rel to AI.

I missed our battles too Lonny007. Get your online connection up to speed asap. To other remaining still online SB1 players please PM contact to set up some games.

Hi Ted, I moved down the road and wireless High Speed internet can see me now, this winter I will get the hook up. I am pretty sure its a good gaming connection, but will confirm one more time to make sure that the wireless is good for gaming. SB 1 is a blast online! Hopefully I will see you on the battlefield again Ted!
