Figured I'd take a shot of my race suit and stuff, and had some stickers made up for my helmet and for the car (car shots will come later). Look closely at my helmet (I'm such a geek!).

Yeah, I just bought a janitor outfit and a couple other odds and ends and made up all the SFI and FIA stickers...lol.

And no...I haven't worn any of this stuff for online racing. I did think about it though to get ready for that hour race I did last week since I hadn't worn any of it for any time at all, but I didn't. That race was the first time I've had it all on for any event.

Hehe, I was lucky to find this one on sale for $250. It normally sells for $800 - $900. It was a closeout sale and it was two sizes too big. I sent it away to the place Sparco does there custom suit building and had them alter it for me for $35.

The shoes are pretty nice too. Easily find the same ones online for around $100. They're mid tops with the back of the shoe mostly cut out so it doesn't dig into your achilles. This particular shoe has a little more sole, but is still soft enough for the "feel" of the pedals.

Just wearing those shoes and gloves would gain you few tenths no doubt,because of the "coolness" factor...Nice stuff WK

I didn't know they still made all-white helmets. It looks a lot more like a blank slate than an all-black.

You probably could just substitute some Nomex AF gloves in a pinch.

On a sidenote I was just in Bulgaria for over 5 weeks (work), but we had the sundays off and we got to try out one sweet karting track they have there. I've only tried a small indoor karting track before so this was something else.



Not much safety equipment required there...just the helmet...

Hey SV, long time no see! Biggest karting track I've been on here is half that size, that looks a fun track to drive

I have AF Nomex gloves but I don't think they have an SFI rating for tech inspections. Plus desert tan or OD green would just clash with my suit...lol. I asked about wearing a flight suit as a driver suit but it's only single layer nomex and I'd have to wear nomex long underwear under it. I'd rather have the two layer nomex suit that I can just take it off to my waist after a run when I get hot.

Awesome looking kart track SV! Wish we had some fast kart tracks. All we have is the fairly slow go karts at Putt Putt and a slightly quicker but short track indoors with electric karts.

Okay, it's not a huge sticker on the car, but look closely above the "Tire Barn" sticker. I'm in the green Neon (#72 with Toyo Tires on the windshield) on page one. This was during my ill fated qualifying session where I got "meatballed" (black flag with an orange ball meaning come in now...your car is toast!). He's still loading the rest of the pics...so more to come.

SpyDoc: Wow that's some bad crashes right there. When we weren't racing on the track some local guys with professional karts had a go. Talk about being in a different league. Those pro-karts goes like hell! Incredible acceleration and some cool power slides around the corners. The 270cc 9HP karts we tried had almost none acceleration, but they stick like glue in the corners though.

SpyDoc: Nice clips, they looked as the clips i usually ends up watching after a few minuts on YouTube. I always click on clips where "accident" is in the title. It doesn't matter if i visited youtube because of link named "Cute puppy". Three clips later i am watching something crashing.

I think i am morbid.

Some of the crashes looked like they hurt.
