I was wondering about this. We have been driving alot of tracks and real racing. Mostly known tracks. But i have never invited you to Sweden!

In sweden we have small tracks, which invites to "strange" racing. We do insist on driving booth superbikes and Porsches on those tracks. Tracks which in best cases are approx 1 min long. And when the swedish moralilty sets in it means, if a car is off, you get a saftey car and sooner or later its a red flagged race.

Yeah, its booring.

So i figured. Why not do this right! Without saftey cars, and risc our life and limbs as it should be to entertain the masses. I will serve some newly baked bread so the caligula times off old get the renaissance its desrves.

Blood, sweat and guts! \:\)

The racing format would be 2x20 min, with a qual (15 min) for the first race.
(I think if we just go to the second race we get the second race start position as the first one ended? If it does it would be superb).

The car of choice would be:
The PCC 2007
http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=PCC%202007
I love bumper to bumper racing

We would only race on 4 out of these tracks, but i add them all to show you we have some great ones. Mo i Rana however is a norwegian track. But STCC has been on that track from time to time. Its a fun track no matter. (And got a great rating at rfactorcentral).

Kinnekulle:
http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Kinnekulle

Falkenberg:
http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Falkenbergs%20Motorbana

Gelleråsen:
http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Gellerasen

Linköping: (Managed to add Kinnekulle twice!)
http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Link%C3%B6pings%20Stadion

Mo-i-rana:
http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Mo%20I%20Rana

TIME for racing:

Saturday, Normal SimHQ racetime which is the qual would start like 17:00 GMT, which i think still is
like 12.00.

And my question of course is, how many off you would consider racing, and how many off you would just say no.

Swedish Scenic Tour

I'd just like to run with a big group again...I'm in! Nothing against the fun series we're running, but we're only drawing maybe 3-4 drivers lately...and I don't run the F1 series so heck yeah!

Maybe this could be the fun series? Also maybe we could do a thing with like a nation week or month where one nation is picked and we only drive on tracks from that country?

I thought about the nation cup/serie also DBR9 and think that would be a wonderful idea!

I watched the Carrera Cup sunday. They where racing the porsche at Falkenberg and i thought that would be fun. Racing only in sweden. I was first going to propose a Aussie serie... but then i reckon i didn't live there! \:\)

I searched for Anderstorp and Mantorp Park, but didn't find them. They where on my top list for the best tracks together with Gelleråsen and Falkenberg.

Perhaps in the "sweden serie" the tracks are to small, better suited for other cars and we should leave the pcc to england or spain? Or perhaps we stick with the same car but doing the cup on different tracks. I have little doubt after trying it out tonight driving the porsche on some of the tracks that perhaps the Mini, Lupos or Clios are much better suited for them.

In all tracks except Mo i Rana you get laptimes of 45-50 seconds in the porsche. The fun thing however since the time is pretty short for one lap. It will not feel as deserted if we are few people getting on with the race!

Lots of opportunities for the leaders to get back into traffic and for others to catch up. I like it \:\)

I think it sounds great the way it is. There's nothing wrong with Porsches on small tracks. Definately won't get boring!

Well Thomas, finalize it and if you want to start right away then we could run it Saturdays, and have it on for the weekday/night fun series too. I do like the PCCs, but it was asked earlier...which PCCs would we use (Mobil Supercup or the PCC Cup)?

Wow, those are some cool tracks! Great for quick laps and close racing I'd think. Kinnekulle Ring is my favorite I think, and all of them remind me a lot of the tracks I'm running in the SCCA for real. You don't always have to be in 5th gear to have fun racing, and K-Ring I keep it in 3rd through most of the course and was running 53 second laps after just a few. Great elevation changes and subtle bumps.

My fastest time so far was at Linkopings at 51 seconds...more time to be had for sure!

I love these short courses and the Porsches are perfect for them as long as you can control your braking and throttling (not to the firewall all the time). I think the first four tracks (all Swedish) are great for a series...kind of like a club racing series.

Great idea Thomas!

Thanks for the links AMK. I know I had seen them before!

Well - it seems that the tracks have been choosed so i guess we are good to go? \:\)

I drove the track with 100% damage, but i guess it wouldn't be fun but some damage must be had so we can catch the leaders!

Porchse Cup it is.
25% damage.
TC and Automatic.

Well T, you've really got everyone interested. 18 drives voted yes which means we'll get a pretty good turnout. Since it was your idea, you've got to be there this Saturday. Cancel all plans ASAP!

Since we've got the option of Porsche cup or Supercup, I suggest everyone selects a supercup car cause there is a difference in the brakes. Here's what one of the GSMF guys said

 Originally Posted By: Fonsecker

For me the PCC cars are best driveable @61:49 Brakesetting, the PMSC @56:44 but shure this depends on the driving style!

I'll grab the Team Redline #5 car, just FYI so nobody else grabs that one \:\) BTW, we're running Kinnekulle this week and Falkenberg next week and so on, yes?

Well my stupid and dear brother is celebrating getting older. ON SUNDAY. But for some stupid reasons (he is stupid) he moved the day to saturday. Something to have to do with his daughter is going away for a three week long scoutmeeting thingie in europe. She will be off sunday morning and he, my stupid brother, wanted to celebrate getting older with his whole family, me included.
And of course, this is a "detail" my family forgot to inform me cause - i am single and i have no life! (But i will soon have a racing seat, which my brother will not. HA - take it in your face brother - Marriage!)

He is stupid. Cause he is my brother. No one other then me are allowed to say that. \:\)

Well we had to push it two weeks then cause next week is "a planned" vacation.

Hm, i had fun driving Falkenberg reverse. It was much better then driving the "normal" GP version! :-)

Me and Jens had our worsed race in iRacing ever. Me being next to last and he... well, let just say i was ahead of him. I was utterly frustrated so i loaded up the PCC and logged in, it was a very enjoyable drive. The PCC really behaves rather good on the tracks, but you have to alter the default setup... (horrendous).

(However for the iRacing fans, i vindicated myself at the 1pm race, and drove one of my best race evver in a strong field. Ended up 7. Loosing a position in the start. I HATE the starts!)

We can push the official start for a series up two weeks for Thomas (since it IS his idea and country)...but we can still run a couple practice fun sprint races on the next two Saturdays.

Most likely not able to run this Saturday due to hosting a family reunion. People get grouchy when the host ignores them, and the host gets grouchy when guests "back-seat-drive" a PCC run... \:D

The world returns to a semi-normal state come the end of July, then goes into near-panic at the end of August for the impending arrival of first grandchild by my daughter.

We go on...

Darn, was out with work today on short notice. Missed the race(s) and I had such fun with WK, Birdski, DCarney and Geezer (or was it Striker too?) on Wednesday.

Oh well, maybe I can get at least a LITTLE practice in for the F1 race tomorrow.
