How do you get to the conclusion that this has anything to do with 'the nation's economy?'
The per share price is, if anything, too high. However, the point is that the market sets the price so it can't really be 'too high' and the fact that a company is buying another healthy company is not any indication of a poor economy. This is not like Trump buying the Eastern Shuttle from a struggling company at a bargain.
I don't have a problem with the sale. It is capitalism. It is NOT by any stretch though a sign of a struggling econonomy or for that matter company (actually the price is quite high). It is utterly unrelated to 'the nation's economy' if by that you are implying the sale is because of general economic weaness....
"For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Matthew 5:11
Indeed we call blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, because “the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:11

When I was a broke Airman I bought Bud when it was still about $6.00 a case on sale (20 years ago). Rolling Rock was our second choice because it was also cheap back then or a case of Little Kings.

For us, it was Keystone Light.
If we were payday rich, it was Shiner Bock.

Guess this tightwad just switched to Miller. You know they merged with an African company right? I assume that was the American company thing coming out. I think Coors is still family owned but I could be wrong.

The founder of Danish brewing company Carlsberg donated the whole company to a beneficial foundation, which basically now-a-days pays for a whole big chunk of Danish culture and science. So everytime we drink a beer in Denmark we support arts, letters and science: cheers! The present-day directors of the company try to wiggle themselves out of the structure, because, as they say "it will be good for the competitive edge of the company" to become part of an even bigger international conglomerate. Yes, good for them and their personal purchasing power, but not good for Denmark. Probably not good for the company either. Anyway, they haven't yet managed to change things, which I think is just great.

Guess this tightwad just switched to Miller. You know they merged with an African company right? Darn, must have been further down in the wiki. Guess I could learn to like Coors. lol Edit: looks like Coors is in bed with SABMiller in MillerCoors Nice that Budweiser made their purchase by InBev more appealing by laying out a perfect plan for getting rid of 1000 US employees.
