I dont remember all the details but in the book "Fox Two" Duke Cunningham destroyed a truck with a AIM heater so it is possible.

Stormtrooper I'm surprised you don't know about Project Stove Pipe. They used the F-102 with some success against targets on the Ho Chi Minh trail. Using the Deuce's onboard IRST as well as the IR variants of the Falcon and the 70-mm rockets mounted in the weapons bay doors, they attacked targets such as encampments and trucks and pretty much anything else they could hit.

I don't know about Cunningham shooting an AIM-9 at ground targets, but USAF pilots flying the F-102 most certainly used their rockets and AIM-4's for this task. Unconventional though it was, they did have some success.

(Yet more ammo as to why the F-102 should be flyable!) \:\) Show some love to the Deuce! \:\)

Read a lot of books like Chickenhawk and a few about the Infantry bud. Feel the Helo love. \:D

I think I read about some external machine gun mountings on the 102 for strafing too. That would be cool.

Hi all. I just bought WOV and I'm anxiously awaiting for its arrival. I have and a very old 'puter 2 GHzs processor, 768 Megs of Ram and a crummy built-in intergrated video card. Will YAP1 still be available? Could I run YAP1 on my dinosaur? For all I know my computer might not be able to run YAP1 either. Thanks in advance for any info. Anyone know when YAP1 or YAP2 "easy" will be available? I visited their web site but can't order yet.

Pescador11,

Zerocinco is having YAP2 tested on numerous machines from low to high end. He will advise of the results on the YAP website ASAP. It sounds like your system is what mine use to be. You should be able to play "easy" and that would entail also turning down mirrors, shadows etc. You'll have to experiment when you get WOV and go from there.

To my personal knowledge as it stands right now YAP1 itself will not be available, although there are items that were carried over to YAP2, necessary to tell the stories.

Thanks 8L.E.I.N...I really appreciate your response. Just got WOV and it runs smoothly with all details maxed out at 800 by 600 resolution in campaign and single missions. Hopefully that is a good sign. Besides I wouldn't mind at all turning down detail plus mirrors and shadows just to be able to play YAP2 EASY. Too bad YAP1 most likely won't be around just incase I won't be able to run YAP2 Easy. What a great way to remember the brave Vietnam era aviators. In the mean time, I'm having a blast playing WOV and pretty soon I'm going to purchase Wings over Europe. Its like playing Jane's Fighters Anthology with beautiful graphics. Thanks again.
